The University of Calgary was founded in the year 1908 which later became a University of Alberta branch in the year 1944 before completely establishing itself as an autonomous and separate University with the same name in the year 1966. The main campus of the University of Calgary is located in Albertas northwest quadrant and the other campus - South Campus is located near the city centre. As per the QS World University Rankings 2022, the University of Calgary ranked 235th in the world and 10th in Canada. AgainIn the U.S. News & World Report Best Global University Ranking 2022, the university ranked 169th globally and seventh nationally.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

There are two campuses of the University of Calgary - main campus and south campus. While the main campus of the university is located in the northwest part of Alberta city, the south campus is situated near the city centre. Also, the University of Calgary has a total of 5 branches out of which only one is in Qatar, Doha while the remaining four are in Calgary itself. There are over 85 research institutes in the University along with 55 departments and 14 faculties. Haskayne School of Business, Schulich School of Engineering, Cumming School of Medicine, Werklund School of Education, etc. constitutethe University of Calgary faculties, thatoffer close to250 programmes.
