The University of Birmingham is a public research university established in 1900. It is a global university situated at the heart of the ambitious city of Birmingham. Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
The university offers more than 150 undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and research-based programmes in several disciplines that are also ranked among the top 50 list. The University of Birmingham’s Dentistry programmes were ranked 13th, Education and Development Studies courses were ranked 36th, sports-related subjects were ranked 6th, Theology, Religious Studies and Divinity programmes were ranked 26th and English language and Literature programmes were ranked 34th by the latest QS World University Rankings. Coming to its infrastructure, the University of Birmingham offers state-of-the-art facilities to its students. The Cadbury Research Library is the university’s main library that houses over 200,000 books and about four million manuscript items. In September 2018, the university inaugurated its new campus in Dubai that made it the first global top 100 universities to open a campus in Dubai.

COVID-19 Response 2021
The latest update related to on-campus activity, teaching and learning for 2021/ 22 at the University of Birmingham is as follows:
The UK Government has granted permission to higher education institutes to start the on-campus teaching and learning for all courses from May 17th, 2021. Thus, the University of Birmingham is looking forward to conducting in-person classes with all safety measures for the upcoming academic term.
Presently, the University is open to support students residing on campus, facilitate teaching, including face-to-face teaching for courses like medicine, allied health, teacher training and social care. Research work requiring specialist facilities is being conducted on campus. The library is open for students.
While the in-person teaching will start soon, the university is preparing beforehand to ensure the safety and well being of everyone on campus. Social distancing, use of masks, proper sanitation, personal hygiene to be followed on campus.
Students returning to campus from a different country will have to follow the travel rules and guidelines as defined by the UK Government.
Two COVID-19 tests need to be taken three days before returning to campus or before joining any on-campus activity.
The scholarship is awarded to Indian students who are enrolled in undergraduate programmes in one of the areas of studies like Law and Arts, Physical Sciences and Engineering, Social Sciences, Life and Environmental Sciences.
Candidates must hold an Indian domicile.
Should have received an offer for BDS Dental Surgery or MBChB Medicine and Surgery at the University of Birmingham.
Must meet the academic conditions of any of the applicable programmes.
Must be financially competent to pay the full cost of living at the university, including travel expenses and visa.
How to Apply?
Candidates will have to apply for the scholarship through local representatives of the University of Birmingham.
Selection: The selection of students for this scholarship will be based entirely on academic merit. Under exceptional circumstances, candidates will be asked to give an interview through Skype.

It is a merit-based scholarship awarded to Indian women graduates aspiring to pursue a master’s degree programme overseas. The eligible criteria defined for scholarship is a follows:
The candidates should be engaged in Social Science, Social Work, Welfare of children and women and Public Health.
Candidates should have shown excellent academic records in the previously acquired education.
