A series of events that commenced with the establishment of the Leeds School of Medicine in 1831 and the Yorkshire College of Science in 1874 led to the foundation of an institution that would, after 1904, be called the University of Leeds. The university was one of the first of its generation to be open to people from all walks of faith and had a strong focus on the advancement of science and scientific methods that were in high demand during the era of its establishment. The university’s strong heritage helped it bring a strong future and become one of the best higher educational institutions in the UK. COVID-19 Response

The latest update for the upcoming academic session 2021 at the University of Leeds is as follows:

  • The Government of the UK has confirmed that all students can return for in-person classes from May 17, 2021. 

  • Students who have already completed their studies in online mode can join the on-campus teaching activities to complete the assessments, practical sessions etc. 

  • Students who are enrolled in postgraduate courses in January 2021 will be able to join the in-person teaching as per the notification to be released by the respective graduate school.

  • As the University of Leeds will reopen its on-campus services, the team members are taking all efforts to ensure that they provide a safe environment for all members of the university. 

  • Free professional well-being and mental health support will also be available in case students need the same.
