Overview

Stevens Institute of Technology was established in 1870 as a private educational institute. The university is one of the oldest technological institutions in the United States, with a major focus on mechanical engineering. Stevens encompasses the highest point in Hoboken, i.e Castle Point and other several buildings across the city. Over 5,500 undergraduate and graduate students have enrolled in the university representing more than 60 countries including Europe, Asia, Latin America, etc. The university provides 35 undergraduate degree programmes, 58 Master's degree programmes, more than 100 graduate certificates, at least 22 PhD programmes including two interdisciplinary programmes. 

Stevens Institute of Technology's academic structure has varied subjects like computer science, civil engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, mechanical engineering, business, mathematical science, finance, and information systems. Within its premises, Stevens has three academic schools and one college - Charles V. Schaefer, School of Systems & Enterprises, Jr. School of Engineering & Science, School of Business, College of Arts and Letters. One of the great things about the university is that they allow students to learn under well-experienced faculty members and visit the industry and learn under professionals. The institute also calls some of the professionals as guest lecturers to help students get practical knowledge and exposure.

Latest Updates

As per the latest COVID-19 guidelines at the university, Stevens have introduced free COVID rapid at-home test kits for pickup from Monday to Friday at Student Health Services. 

On-campus students, faculty, and other staff members who are fully vaccinated can be randomly called in weekly testing throughout the spring semester 2022.

Here is how candidates can apply to Stevens Institute of Technology for both undergraduate and graduate courses.

Undergraduate courses

Stevens follows a semester-based admission process. International applicants can apply for two intakes - Fall and Spring. Like every other university based in the United States, Stevens also asks its international applicants to apply via the Common Application portal. Follow these quick steps to apply for undergraduate level courses at Stevens:

Step 1: Go to Common Application website to apply online

Step 2: If you're a new user then create a new account at the application portal. If you're an existing user, you can log in via your previous account.

Step 3: Choose the course you want to study at Stevens Institute of Technology

Step 4: Now, the candidate will be required to fill in the details as required by the application portal and the course.

Step 5: Attach all documents like SOP, LOR, language test scores, etc for a successful admission process at Stevens.

Step 6: Now pay the application fee to proceed further.

Step 7: Candidates will be required to schedule an interview. So, choose the date wisely.

Step 8: After checking again, now the candidate can submit the application.

Ann P. Neupauer Scholarship

Stevens Institute of Technology always prefers to consider academically gifted students every year with Ann P. Neupauer Scholarship. This scholarship aims to help students who are willing to apply for an undergraduate course at SIT.

This scholarship is the most distinguished honor of Stevens and has been named in the honor of the late Mrs Neupauer. This scholarship will not only help the candidate to cover his or her education cost but also enhance the applicant's overall university experience with amazing perks.

Eligibility criteria

  • The applicant must be a newly admitted undergraduate student at the university

  • He or she has enrolled in a degree programme and is attending full-time courses

How to apply

  • Fill up the admission application and submit it within the time given to the university

  • There is no separate application process to enrol for the scholarship

  • Candidates, as per the criteria will be automatically awarded the scholarship at the time of admission

This full-tuition scholarship can be renewed for four years or till the completion of full course. 

Edwin A. Stevens Scholarship

The scholarship has been named after the founder of Stevens Institute of Technology. This scholarship also aims to provide students with hassle-free access to education in the university. 

Eligibility criteria

  • The candidate must be an undergraduate student at the university

  • Must attend a full-time course

  • This scholarship is not applicable for students from New Jersey

How to Apply

  • Fill up the application form and submit it to the university

  • Provide documents LOR, standardised test scores, transcripts, etc

  • There is no separate application process to apply for the scholarship

Perks

The full-tuition scholarship will grant for four years (or eight full-time semesters) undergraduate study and it can be renewed as well. 

Global International Scholarships

Stevens Institute of Technology offers a limited number of Global Scholarships to international candidates for exceptional academic merit. Candidates planning to study abroad in Stevens and who wish to get into consideration for institutional scholarship must submit the CSS profile on the College Board website.

Eligibility criteria

  • Anyone can apply from all over the world

  • The candidate must be attending any undergraduate degree programme in any subject provided by the university

  • He or she should also hold a previous year’s educational certificates with a good result from a recognised school

How to apply

  • To apply for the scholarship, the candidate must submit the CSS profile on the College Board website

  • Attach supporting documents along with the CSS profile

  • Candidates should also check the entry requirements to remain assured

  • If the candidate's first language is not English, then he or she should take language proficiency test and submit the score

Perks

This scholarship by Stevens Institute of Technology will provide tuition fees for the course and is renewable for eight full-time undergraduate semesters.

According to reports, almost 95% of the class at Stevens secure intended incomes within six months after graduation. Across all the majors like Chemical engineering, Quantitative finance, and Computer science or cyber security, the overall average salary in the year 2019 was USD 76,400, with max. compensation of USD 142,000 from about 300 plus companies that recruit directly from the campus of Stevens Institute of Technology.
