The expected number of questions in the GATE 2026 Civil Engineering usually varies from one topic to another. Topics with high weightage usually have a higher number of questions as compared to those with a lower weightage. For example, topics like Geotechnical Engineering, General Aptitude, and Engineering Mathematics usually have a higher number of questions as compared to chapters like Irrigation, Design of Steel Structure, and Structural Analysis. There is no doubt that the competition level in GATE 2026 is likely to be very high. Therefore, understanding the topic-wise weightage in GATE 2-26 Civil Engineering will allow students to mould their preparation strategy accordingly.

The GATE 2026 Civil Engineering is scheduled to be conducted on February 14, 2026. The exam will be conducted for two papers, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM (for CE Paper 1) and from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM (for CE Paper 2), respectively. The GATE 2026 Exam will be conducted at the national level with IIT Guwahati designated as the organising institute this year.
