TNEA Round 4 Counselling 2025: Eligible Ranks, Dates, Vacant Seats, Process, Documents
DoTE, Tamil Nadu will be conducting TNEA round 4 counselling process online to fill vacant seats from TNEA round 3 counselling process. The TNEA round 4 counselling dates will be announced soon by the DoTE, Chennai.
TNEA Round 4 Counselling 2025: The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Chennai, Tamil Nadu, will conduct the TNEA round 4 counselling 2025 to fill the vacant seats from the round 3 of TNEA counselling. If you have not confirmed your seats in TNEA round 3 counselling, you will be eligible to do so in round 4 of TNEA counselling. Students participating in the TNEA counselling process 2025 will be allotted seats across the B.E./ B.Tech programmes offered by the colleges of Tamil Nadu on the basis of their TNEA Rank 2025. TNEA Eligible Ranks
The Directorate of Technical Education declares the TNEA eligible ranks on its official website based on the merit of the students in their Standard 12 examination. The TNEA eligible ranks are determined by several factors, including the total number of available seats at the TNEA participating colleges in 2025, previous years’ cutoff trends, and the total number of students participating in TNEA counselling 2025.

TNEA Vacant Seats
You will be allotted seats across the B.E/ B.Tech institutes of Tamil Nadu based on your rank in the TNEA Rank List 2025. The total number of seats available in the private and public engineering colleges of Tamil Nadu for admission via TNEA counselling 2025 are expected to be 15000-16000. The seats which remain vacant after the TNEA Round 3 counselling 2025 will be allotted to students in Round 4.

The TNEA 2025 counselling process involves the following stages.
Registration and Certificate Verification
The very first step to participate in TNEA counselling 2025 is registration. Students have to apply through the online mode to participate in the TNEA counselling process 2025. After successful registration with the requisite details, students must proceed with the document verification process along with the necessary documents.
Publication of Rank List
The TNEA rank list 2025 is prepared based on the marks obtained by the students in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in their Class 12 exam. Students’ ranks in the TNEA rank list 2025 are indicative of their chances of securing admission into the TNEA participating institutes 2025.
Choice Filling
Students are provided 3 days for TNEA choice filling, within which they are required to fill in their preferred choices of colleges and branches. Students should order their choices according to their priority of preferences. There is no maximum limit imposed upon the total number of choices that students can fill.
Seat Allotment
Students are allotted seats across the B.E./ B.Tech institutes of Tamil Nadu based upon the choices provided by them and their rank in the TNEA rank list 2025. The TNEA seat allotment result comprises details, namely the name of the student, rank, overall/ community rank, college name and branch name.
Confirmation of Allotment
If a student is allotted a seat during the seat allotment process, then she/he will be provided with options related to the confirmation of the seat. Students must confirm their seat within 2 days from the date of allotment. If a student fails to do so, she/ he will be moved to the subsequent round.
Reporting to Allotted Institute
Reporting to the allotted college is the final stage in the TNEA counselling process 2025. Students who have accepted the seat allotment must download the seat allotment order and report to the allotted college within 7 days with the necessary documents and complete the admission process by paying the requisite fees.

In order to participate in the TNEA counselling process 2025, students are required to have specific documents. The following documents have to be produced by the students for the purpose of the TNEA certificate verification process.

- TC (Transfer Certificate)
- TNEA Application/ Registration Form 2025
- First Graduate Certificate
- Community Certificate (only for SC/ ST/ SCA/ BCM/ BC/ MBC & DNC)
- Nativity Certificate (if needed)
- Income Certificate (if applicable)
