The UGC NET Commerce December 2025 cutoff marks for JRF, Assistant Professor, and PhD admission will be based on exam difficulty, candidate feedback, and overall performance. The cutoff for the General category is expected to be around 230 for JRF and 205 for Assistant Professor.
UGC NET Commerce Cutoff for December 2025 will be released by February, 2026, officially by NTA. After the release of the result, the cutoff marks for each category will be provided here. The exam difficulty level, candidate feedback, and the number of successful attempts in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 across all shifts will have an impact on the expected UGC NET December 2025 Commerce cutoff. The expectedUGC NET 2025 cutoffin Commerce for the December session is 230 for JRF and 205 for Assistant Professor in the unreserved category. Criteria to Determine UGC NET Cutoff 2025 for Commerce
The guidelines for finalizing the UGC NET Commerce Cutoff 2025 are mentioned below:
Step 1: The total number of candidates qualified in UGC NET is equal to 6% of the candidates who appeared in both papers of the exam.
Step 2: Vacancies allocated according to the reservation policy of the Government of India
Step 3: Candidates should score the minimum marks for getting selected as JRF and Assistant Professor:

| Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) | 35% aggregate marks in both Paper 1 and 2 |

Other Backward Class-Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) and Transgenders | 35% aggregate marks in both Paper 1 and 2 |
Step 4: UGC declares the number of qualified candidates in a subject based on the method given below:
Example: No. of candidates to be declared qualified for Assistant Professor in ‘Commerce’ for the Scheduled Caste (SC) category | Candidates from the SC category securing at least 35% aggregate marks in Paper 1 and 2 for ‘Commerce’ (x) Total slots available for SC category as per Step II (÷) Total number of candidates belonging to the SC category over all candidates who get 35% aggregate marks in both the papers |
The aggregate percentage secured by candidates in both papers corresponding to the no. of slots shall determine the qualifying cut-off for eligibility for Assistant Professor in Economics. Similarly, cutoffs are decided for all other subjects and categories.
Step 5: All candidates (who appeared for both Assistant Professor and JRF) out of the total no. of qualified candidates shall be considered for JRF.
Step 6: According to the reservation policy, the total number of slots available for awarding JRF is distributed among various categories. The procedure for subject-wise cum category-wise allocation of JRF slots is given below:
Example: No. of candidates to be declared qualified for JRF & Eligibility for Assistant Professor in ‘Commerce’ for the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category | No. of candidates from ST category who opted for JRF and qualified for Assistant Professor both in ‘Commerce’ (x) Total no. of ST category candidates for JRF slots (÷) Total no. of candidates from ST category over all candidates who opted for JRF and qualified for Assistant Professor |
The aggregate percentage secured by candidates in both papers corresponding to the number of JRF slots can figure out the qualifying cut-off for JRF in Commerce for the ST category.
