UGC NET 2018 Cut-Off

UGC NET is conducted twice a year once in July and then in December. UGC NET 2018 Cut-Off for the July session was released by the CBSE, along with the result on 31st July 2018, on the official website.

UGC NET cut-off score for General category is 40% in Paper I and II while the cut-off for (OBC, SC, ST, and PwD) is 35 % in Paper I and II. NTA will decide the UGC NET cut-off score for each subject for the next session. The cut-off for the December 2018 session will be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA). NTA will be conducting the NET for the first time on behalf of the UGC at 91 selected cities. To register for the UGC NET 2018 December session, candidates can go on the official website and apply for the examination. However, the application process for the December session is now over. Since, it will be a computer-based test, a mock test link will be provided on the official website in November to give candidates an idea of the UGC NET 2018 Exam Pattern.

The exam is conducted for approx 100 subjects, whereas, earlier it was conducted for 84 subjects. UGC NET is held to shortlist eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Professor and for Junior Research Fellowship.

How to Check UGC NET 2018 Cut-Off

To check the UGC NET Cut-off, you will have to go on the official website. The cut-off for the post of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship is given separately as per category. To check out the UGC NET cut-off scores, follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Click on the link cbseresults.nic.in/UGCpxy/net_july2018.htm

  • After you click on the link, you will land on the UGC NET Result page.

  • On the result page, you will be asked to fill all the necessary details such as Application number, Roll number and Date of birth.

  • After clicking on these details, click on the 'Submit' button.

  • As soon as you submit the information, you will be able to see your result for UGC NET 2018.

  • Download the PDF file for the cut-off and also take out a print for future reference.

Factors Determining UGC NET Cut-off

The cut-off for UGC NET 2018 depends on various factors, which are listed below:

  • Total number of exam takers

  • Number of seats available

  • Difficulty level of the exam

  • Marking scheme

  • Ratio of candidates to seats

UGC NET Cut-Off score

UGC NET Cut Off 2018 for Assistant Professor

The number of candidates to be qualified for the post of Assistant Professor is equal to 6% of the candidates who appeared for both NET Papers.

UGC NET Cut off 2018 for Junior Research Fellowship

A separate merit list is prepared for JRF qualified candidates after considering their eligibility in terms of age. The upper age limit for the General category is 28 while the upper age limit for the Reserved category is 33.
