AIT Pune Students Grab Top Three Positions at Hackathon
AIT, Pune Students grabs the top three positions at Hackathon 2020. The final rounds were conducted on January 11 and January 12, 2020.
Three students from the Army Institute of Technology (AIT) won the top positions in the NEC Hackathon which was recently conducted at IIT, Delhi. Hackathon was organized by NEC Corporation in collaboration with the Common Service Centers (CSC). More than 4000 students participated in the Hackathon including students from IIT’s.

AIT Alumni Swastik Srivastava, Rohan Chougule, Rajat Rawat and Anirudh Murali from the Drupple team won the first prize. Shailesh, Arpit, Shubham, Shivam who are third-year students of AIT won the second prize under the team “WeCode” and Sagar, Ashok from Centillion team won the third prize. First, the second and third position teams won Rs 2.5 lakh, Rs 1.5 lakh, and Rs one lakh respectively.

The theme of the Hackathon was the digitisation of education in rural areas. Initially, an online round was conducted in December in which 40 teams were shortlisted. The final round was conducted on January 11 and January 12. Seven out of eight teams were from AIT in the final round. Over the past three years, AIT has won many competitions. The Army Institute of Technology has open-source clubs and competitive coding clubs through which the students get a chance to learn technology from the faculty who are experts in the domain.
