DU Vocational Course Students Can Opt Out after Completing First and Second Year
- Three DU colleges offer a varied range of vocational courses, which give students the flexibility to leave after the first and second year with the degree.
- These courses will make students ready for jobs at each exit point of the course.
Colleges affiliated to the University of Delhi are offering six skill-based UG courses, which provide a unique flexibility to students to opt out after completing the first and second-year course with an advanced diploma and diploma degrees respectively. Later, these students will get a chance to rejoin the course and complete their degree. At present, three DU colleges are offering B.Voc (Bachelor of Vocational) degree course.
The University Grants Commission (UGC), NSQF (National Skills Qualification Framework) and National Skill Development Corporation have jointly framed these courses.

Vocational Courses Offered by DU Colleges: -
- Jesus and Mary College offers two courses in Healthcare Management and Retail Management and IT.
- On the other hand, Kalindi College offers two courses in Web Designing and Printing Technology.
- Ramanujan College also offers B.Voc courses in Software Development and Banking Operations.
- Students have the option to choose any one course of the two.
Nodal Officer of Kalindi College, Mr. Pankaj Kumar revealed that students could come back to complete their course if they drop out after the first and second year. These students can complete their degree later if they wish to. The objective of this unique move is to offer flexibility to students either to take a break from studies or work. The college offers 50 seats in each course, he added.

Students from all the streams can apply for B.Voc courses, while Mathematics in Class 12 is mandatory for some courses. The admissions to these courses will be based on cut-off.
The curriculum of B.Voc courses in each semester will be a mix of Skill Education Components (SEC) and General Education Components (GEC). These courses will make students ready for jobs at each exit point of the course.
