Mrinalini Datta Mahavidyapith , a co-educational degree college, was established on March 5, 1964 by Birati Siksha Samsad to cater primarily to the students coming from lower middle class and poor families of Birati and its adjoining rural and semi urban areas. Initially the college was affiliated to the University of Calcutta up to the session 2007-08 and thereafter came under the West Bengal State University . UG & PG Courses offered in Arts ( Bengali, English, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Sanskrit, Sociology, Journalism and Mass Communication) ; Science( Geography, Anthropology, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics); Commerce( Accountancy and Finance); Management ( Bachelor in Business Administration).
