- Candidates must be Indian Nationals and they should satisfy the local/non-local status requirements mentioned in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) Order, 1974.
- Candidates must have passed a three or four-year bachelor’s degree course or must have passed an equivalent qualifying examination in the 10+2+3/4 pattern as recognized by U.G.C. (University Grants Commission).
- Candidates applying for MBA admissions are required to have a bachelor’s degree and they must have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST and other reserved category candidates) from a recognized university. Additionally, the Bachelor’s degree course duration must be at least 3 years.
- Final year Bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply for AP ICET. However, for such students, requisite documents must be submitted within the specified time or their admission will be cancelled.
- For candidates who have obtained the qualifying degree through an open university or a distance learning program, their corresponding degrees and qualifications must be recognized by the Joint Committee of UGC, AICTE, and DEC/DEB.

The AP ICET counselling process is the final stage in the entire admission process. It is conducted by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education for candidates who wish to seek admission through the AP ICET exam.
