Madras University is a state public university which was established in 1857. It is one of the oldest universities in India and is situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The university has been ranked 65th in the overall category and 50th in the university category in the NIRF Ranking 2023. UGC has recognised the university as one of the centres for "potential for excellence". It has also been accredited by NAAC with an “A++” grade.
There are a total of 12 courses in various specialisations available to interested candidates at the diploma, certificate, PG diploma and postgraduate levels. The admission to the offered courses is provided on the basis of merit in the last qualifying exam, except for MBA & MCA. To become eligible for MBA & MCA, interested candidates have to appear and qualify in TANCET. As per the Madras University placement data for 2022, a total of 440 PG (2-year) and 5 PG (3-year) candidates received placement opportunities with reputed recruiters.

Hostel: Hostels were average. The food quality was better. There were no unique facilities in the hostels. Medical facilities were available 24X7 with a charge of Rs 500 every time.

Placement: Students are eligible for campus placements from the 7th Sem onwards. Companies such as TCS, Wipro, etc are visiting and around 60% are hired each year.
Infrastructure: The facilities in this college are good. Classes also have WiFi, smartboards. campuse also have sports centres, and libraries too for students to read new books.
Faculty: College teachers are very friendly, helpful, highly qualified and wisdom. They treat everyone equally. They are helping every student that makes students extraordinary. Our college exam level is moderate. I got 80% of the marks in the exam.
Hostel: No we have not opted any type of hostel. Because my home is near by college. So that we have not opted the hostel and so we can't rate the hostel infrastructure and facilities.
