AIIMS MBBS Eligibility Criteria 2026
To gain admission to AIIMS flagship MBBS programs, you need to meet the minimum eligibility criteria, covering nationality, age, educational qualification, minimum marks, and subject requirements. Here is a detailed look at the AIIMS MBBS eligibility criteria 2026:
1. Nationality
Indian citizens, NRIs, OCIs, and foreign nationals are eligible.
For foreign nationals, the number of seats in AIIMS New Delhi is often limited to only 7 seats.
2. Age Criteria
The minimum age requirement for the MMBS admission at AIIMS is 17 years by December 31, 2026.
As per the AIIMS MBBS eligibility criteria, there is no upper age limit for the AIIMS MBBS course.
3. Educational Qualification & Subjects
The candidate should have passed the Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognised board.
The required subjects are Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology, and English.
Those who are appearing in their Class 12 exam in 2026 can also apply, subject to producing proof at the time of admission.
For students of foreign boards or other systems, they may need to submit equivalence certificates from an Indian university or AIU (Association of Indian Universities).
4. Minimum Marks
For the General or Unreserved category, a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English is usually required.
For SC/ ST/ OBC (Non‑Creamy Layer), the minimum drops to 40% in the same subjects.
For PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disability) in the General category, 45% is required in the qualifying exam.
5. Number of Attempts

There is no restriction on the number of attempts; candidates may appear as many times as they wish, so long as they meet the age and educational criteria each year.

2. AIIMS NEET Eligibility for Foreign or NRI Applicants

International students must have completed Class 12 with Chemistry, English, Physics, and Biotechnology/Biology, with at least 50% marks. Equivalence will be determined by the Association of Indian Universities.

AIIMS MBBS Exam Guidelines 2026
On the day of the NEET examination, you must follow the guidelines shared below to ensure a hassle-free exam experience:You will have 3 hours to finish the paper - 45 questions each from Physics and Chemistry, and 90 questions from Biology section. You should allot sectional time to cover each section.
There will be negative marking; one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
Make sure you reach the exam venue at least an hour before the scheduled time so as to complete all the verification processes in advance.
Mobile phones, calculators, smart watches, and Bluetooth devices are not allowed inside the examination hall.
No need to carry pens, pencils, erasers, or rulers (pen is provided) during the AIIMS NEET 2026 admission exam.
Wallets, bags, food items, and water bottles cannot be carried inside the exam hall.
You should wear half-sleeve dresses and slippers or sandals (no shoes).
