NEET Exam Pattern 2023: The National Testing Agency (NTA) releases the NEET 2023 Pattern in the official information bulletin on neet.nta.nic.in. The NEET Exam Pattern 2023 includes detailed information on the marking scheme, question type, mode of paper, language, and more. NEET Exam 2023 was conducted on May 7, 2023

Important Points About NEET 2023 Exam Pattern

NTA, in a notification released on the official website, clarified that students who opt for regional languages will be given a bilingual test booklet comprising the selected regional language and English. Given below are other relevant pointers one must know about NEET exam pattern 2023.

  • Section A in the NEET exam pattern 2023 includes 35 MCQs, and candidates must choose the correct option for every question to receive four marks. However, for every incorrect option marked, one mark will be deducted. If a question is left unanswered, no marks will be given. 
  • In the case of multiple correct options, candidates will be awarded four marks for choosing any one of the correct options, or all candidates who attempted the question will be awarded four marks if all options are correct. 
  • Moving on to Section B of the NEET exam pattern, candidates must attempt any 10 out of the 15 MCQs given. If a candidate attempts more than 10 questions, only the first 10 attempted questions will be considered for evaluation.
  •  Negative marking applies in this section, and for every correct answer, candidates will receive four marks, while one mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. If a question has multiple correct options, candidates will receive four marks for selecting any one of the correct options, or all candidates who attempted the question will receive four marks if all options are correct. 
  • If a question is found to be incorrect or dropped, all candidates who attempted the question will be awarded four marks due to human error or technical error. Therefore, candidates must pay attention to these crucial details of the NEET exam pattern and prepare accordingly to maximize their chances of scoring well in the exam.
  • In cases where more than 1 correct answer is applicable, then all or any one of the marked MCQ options are allotted 4 marks.
  • Candidates are granted 4 marks in sutations where a question has been dropped. Even if students haven’t attempted the question, they will nonetheless be granted 4 additional marks.
