NEET Exam Pattern 2024

NEET 2024 exam pattern is similar to last year's NEET exam pattern. As per the information bulletin published at neet.ntaonline.in, there are four subjects in the NEET UG 2024 exam pattern; namely Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Each subject will have two sections; Section A and Section B. There will be 35 questions in Section A and 15 questions in Section B. Out of these 15, candidates have the option to answer any 10 questions. Therefore, both the total number of questions and the amount of time used will stay the same as the previous year.

NEET UG 2024 is scheduled to be conducted on May 5, 2024, from 2 PM to 5:20 PM Indian Standard Time (IST). NEET Application Form 2024 correction window is open till March 20. Just like last year, NEET is being offered in 13 additional regional languages including Hindi, English, Bengali, Malayalam, Gujarati, Assamese, Kannada, Odia, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Urdu, or Punjabi. 

Based on the details provided in the NEET 2024 Information Bulletin, the NEET Exam Pattern 2024 states that the test will take place in offline mode, using pen and paper, and its time duration will be three hours and twenty minutes (200 minutes). There will be 200 objective multiple-choice questions (MCQs), out of which 180 must be attempted. The total score of the NEET UG 2024 Exam is 720. For every correct response, 4 marks are allotted; for an incorrect response, 1 mark is deducted; and for no response, no marks are deducted.

Has NEET 2024 Exam Pattern Changed?

NEET Exam Pattern 2024 remains unchanged. The exam pattern for NEET UG 2024 has been made public via the updated information brochure. As expected, there are no changes in the exam pattern for NEET. Candidates will have to answer 180 objective-type questions (out of 200) from the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. Each question carries 4 marks, making the total marks for NEET 2024 to be 720.

NEET 2024 Exam Pattern - Duration of Examination

The total time duration allotted to attempt all questions in NEET 2024 exam is 3 hours and 20 minutes or 200 minutes. Candidates must mark answers in the OMR sheet within the given period, no added minutes will be provided. To avoid wasting time, candidates must report at the NEET exam centre 45 minutes before. 

Also, candidates must note that, the NEET question booklet is distributed 15 minutes prior to the main exam timings. Hence, reach at the exam centre on the right time to avoid any sort of delay and panic. Before 2022, the time allotted for students to attempt all 180 questions was 3 hours.     No. 256 score is well below the cutoff mark level of the Govt. Thiruvarur Medical College. Students must score at least 600-625 marks to be considered for a seat at this college.
