Since the beginning of recession in IT sector, most of the youth want to join Public Sector. But in the on-going scenerio of competition, it is not easy to crack the several exams.

IBPS Clerk, PO and for the various post, the exams are conducted in the month of November and December.

College Dekho, being a leading education portal is providing some useful tips to crack the exam.

Basic Information about the exam You need minimum time of two months to prepare for bank exam. The exam usually begins in August and ends in September. It is a Common Written Test, followed by an interview if the candidate clears the written test. The exam general time duration is 2 hours and around 200 number of questions are asked. This exam consists of five sections: General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English Language, and Computer Knowledge. Each section is for 40 marks. Questions will be objective and have five choices.

General AwarenessIn this Section, about 40 percent of the questions will revolve around banking and financial industry, and 60 percent will be on Current Affairs like politics, economy, sports, art, awards, etc. To score well in this section, one must read newspapers and magazines. Also, keep yourself updated recent news of national and international importance. Carefully look at the banking policies and regulations which was changed in the past.

Quantitative AptitudeQuantitative Aptitude will also have 40 questions and cover topics like profit and loss, time and distance, number system, data interpretation, number series, etc. To score high, Practice as many problems as possible. To make most of this section, follow any book religiously and trying to answer the correctly. As you practice, try to discover tricks which would help you to solve the answers quickly.

ReasoningReasoning will also be for 40 marks and will cover number series, blood relation, mirror images, time series, etc. You can score good marks in this section particularly. The questions usually are not very difficult, so with a little practice you can score good marks. English Go through a good grammar book to brush up your grammar skills. Learn some news words every day, also note down the antonym and synonym of the words. Like other exams of English, this section will contain comprehension, grammar, spotting errors in sentences, fill in the blanks, improving sentences.

Computer AwarenessYou can score good marks in this section. To prepare for this section, refer to basic computer books. Interviews After clearing the written test, Group Discussions or Interviews will be the important factor in selection of a candidate for the post. For this, watch business channels and read newspapers. Since most questions will be about banking and current events, being updated will help you most.
