However, only those students who manage to secure the minimum cutoff marks and are included in the NEET Merit List 2025 will be eligible to appear for counselling. The NEET UG counselling 2025 has started. As per the schedule, the Round I choice filling process has been ongoing since July 22, 2025, and the last date to fill the choices online is July 31, 2025. General Instructions for NEET 2025 Counselling students

Before applying for NEET UG counselling 2025, the student must know the NEET counselling guidelines. Check out the guidelines below:

  • The NEET UG Counselling online registration will be accessible through the Medical Counselling Committee's official website (MCC).

  • After considering the NEET seat matrix that has been published on the website, fill out the choice option form. The seat matrix shows the number of seats available for the All India Quota, MBBS/BDS programs, deemed universities, AIIMS, and JIPMER counselling.

  • NEET counselling 2025 also categorises the seats reserved for various kinds of students in each college, such as General, Scheduled Castes/Tribes, and OBCs.

  • If you are satisfied with your seat allocation in the 1st Round of counselling and are willing to take admission, report to the allotted college within the respective time.

  • If you are unhappy with your seat allotment and want to change it, you can request a seat upgrade in the next round.

  • You must register for each new round of NEET UG counselling up to the mop-up round.

Step 1: NEET UG Seat Allotment 2025

Based on the student’s NEET rank 2025, choices filled, and reservation criteria, the counselling authority will create the first round allotment list. It will be posted online on the MCC website for AIQ and the respective state website.

Step 2: NEET UG Provisional Allotment Letter

If the student is allotted a seat, they will be able to download the NEET UG provisional allotment letter 2025 from the website. This letter is important for the next steps in counselling.

Step 3: Reporting to the Allotted College

The student will be given specific dates for reporting to the allotted college. They must carry all the necessary documents, including the provisional allotment letter, fee receipt, NEET scorecard 2025 , NEET admit card, and other relevant certificates.

  • If they wish to take admission into the college, report, undergo document verification and fill out the seat retention form.

  • They will have to report to the college even if they want to go ahead with the NEET UG  second round of counselling. Also, they must make sure that you do not fill out the retention form.

  • If they wish to exit NEET UG counselling 2025, do not report to college.

Step 4: NEET UG Counselling Document Verification

At the college, undergo document verification. Ensure the student has both the originals and photocopies of all required documents. They will have to submit the original documents while taking admission.

How many counselling rounds are there in NEET?
