How to change the IIT JAM 2026 Exam Centre?

In exceptional circumstances, students can change the location of their IIT JAM 2026 exam by following these steps:

• Log in to the official website of IIT JAM 2026.

• Select "Change Exam Centre" from the drop-down menu.

• Choose the "Exceptional Circumstances" option.

• Give a strong justification for your request to relocate the IIT JAM Exam Centre. The reason for the change must be compelling, and any medical certificate, police report, or other document can assist in this case.

• Pay the processing fee of INR 500.

• Select the "Submit" button to save the changes.

Important Instructions for IIT JAM 2026 Exam

The following are the most important instructions for IIT JAM exam centres:

• Students have to bring their IIT JAM 2026 admit card along with a valid ID proof with a photograph to the IIT JAM exam centre.

• Students can change the IIT JAM 2026 exam centre after submitting their JAM application during the correction period. They must submit a change request for the JAM centre via the JOAPS portal.

• Students will be able to download their IIT JAM 2026 admit card on January 8th, 2026.

• No candidate will be permitted to take the IIT JAM 2026 entrance examination without the admit card.

• The IIT JAM 2026 entrance examination will be held on February 11th, 2026.

• Candidates must arrive at the designated JAM 2026 examination centre at least an hour before the examination begins.

• The JAM organising committee's primary concern in allocating exam centres to students is their preference. It is assigned to one of the three JAM exam centres chosen by candidates on the JAM application form.

Note:You must also pay a processing fee along with a valid reason for changing the exam location. However, the JAM organising committee does not guarantee that you will be able to change your exam location or receive a refund of their processing fee.
