The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education conducts the Maharashtra HSC (Higher Secondary School Certificate) Class 12 examinations every year. For 2026, students must secure a minimum of 35% marks separately in both theory and practical components to pass. The board also follows a condonation policy that allows the award of grace marks and classifies results based on an overall percentage division system. Students appearing for the Maharashtra HSC 2026 examinations are required to score at least 35% in each subject to qualify for higher education. Most subjects carry a total of 100 marks, although a few subjects are evaluated out of 150 marks. The overall passing criteria, previously set at 650 aggregate marks, have been revised to 600.
