SLAT 2024 Last Minute Preparation Tips

SLAT 2023 is scheduled for May 06, 2023, for Test 1 and May 14, 2023, for Test 2. The exam is conducted by Symbiosis International University once a year. A total of 1080 seats are offered for candidates who want to study law at one of the SLS. The exam conducted for a duration of 60 minutes is held in computer-based test mode. The question paper consists of 60 questions with one mark for each.

Candidates need to first check the eligibility criteria and appear for the SLAT exam. On the basis of the SLAT score, eligible candidates are shortlisted by the SLS. The selected candidates will then have to appear for the Personal Interview (PI) round and Written Ability Test (WAT). Only those candidates who qualify for all the stages, SLAT, PI and WAT, shall get into one of the Symbiosis Law Schools (SLS). The admission is based on the marks of the candidates in all the stages taken together.

The Symbiosis Law Admission Test is an examination that is conducted in online mode. The exam is framed in an objective type pattern where the candidates will be asked to circle the correct answer out of the four options. The questions will be based on the five vital subjects, i.e. Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, General English, Analytical Reasoning, and General Knowledge.n

The process to download the SLAT 2023 admit card is as follows:

• The candidate must visit the official website of SET 2023.
• The main page reflects an ‘Admit Card’ tab. Click on it.
• A new window pops up for the login. Enter the ID and password.
• Click on the ‘Submit’ button and the admit card will appear on the screen.
• Check the details mentioned and verify them.
• In case of the wrong details, candidates are required to inform the helpdesk of SIU.
• Download the admit card and get its printout for future use.

The SLAT 2023 eligibility criteria is as follows:

• If an aspirant is unable to meet the conditions, he/she will be considered invalid for taking the exam. Candidates are required to keep in mind the following mentioned criteria to go through with the admission process.
• The candidates must have passed the class 12 qualifying examination from any recognised state or national board of education.
• Applicants appearing for the class 12 exam are also eligible to apply for the SLAT test 2023 given that they produce the required qualification documents during the time of admission.
• The aspirants applying for BBA LLB (Hons.) should have studied Social Science subjects or Arts in class 12. Also, those enrolling for BA LLB (Hons.) should have studied in Mathematics/Commerce/Science stream.
• Age is not a bar for the SLAT test.

The detailed application process of SLAT 2023 is explained below:

• Those willing to apply need to visit the official website and register on the admission portal of SLAT 2023.
• After registration, the candidates will have to fill out the admission form by entering their academic and personal credentials.
• The aspirants will further upload the images of the required scanned documents, a passport-sized photo, and their signature in the prescribed format.
• Before the final submission of the form, the candidates are required to complete the fee payment through any of the payment options (Axis Bank Gateway, Billdesk Gateway, Indian Bank Gateway, and Demand Draft).

Symbiosis Law Admission Test, commonly known as SLAT, is the law entrance exam of the Symbiosis International University to offer admission to the five-year integrated BA LL.B (Hons.) and BBA LL.B (Hons.) programmes. Symbiosis University is a deemed university that offers various UG and PG level courses.

The subject-wise preparation tips for SLAT 2023 are given below:

• Legal Reasoning: Students preparing for SLAT 2023 must focus on basic political science which includes Constitution, Fundamental Rights, DPSPs, Judiciary, Fundamental Duties, Executive and Legal concepts. As law subjects such as IPR, IPC, CPC and Personal Laws are important, similarly Labour laws are also important. Candidates must go through the basic preparation books for the law entrance examination, prepare notes and understand the legal concepts.
• Logical Reasoning: In the logical reasoning section, there will be questions on blood relations, series, syllogism, analogy and many more. It is very important to practice daily from these sections because these subjects can only be answered with lots and lots of practice.
• Analytical Reasoning: We are quite used to the phrase, practice makes a man perfect and in the analytical section of SLAT, students can answer all the questions if they practice a good number of questions every day. Questions will be on analytical topics like Profit & Loss, Percentage, Algebra, Mental Ability and Mathematical/ Logical Analysis. You can excel in the analytical portion with a lot of practice. 
• General English: The English section of SLAT consists of questions based on grammar, figures of speech, parts of speech, synonyms, etc. Reading newspapers daily will improve your grammar, vocabulary and reading skills. Try solving practice questions of SLAT to score good marks in this section. 
• General Knowledge: For the General Knowledge section, students are advised to read newspapers and current affairs magazines. Make notes from the current affairs part of the newspaper. Focus mainly on the topics related to legal developments as well as national and international interests. NCERT books or any other general knowledge books are recommended to gain knowledge of polity, economy, history and environment.

• Make a Routine: For SLAT 2023 preparation, candidates should make a study routine which includes all the subjects of the SLAT syllabus. Enough time should be dedicated to solving mock tests as this is an important part of the SLAT 2023 preparation. The routine should be made in a way so that you can cover all the important topics. 
• Take Short Notes and Revision: It is important for the candidate to make short notes while studying for SLAT 2023. Short notes will help in covering the whole SLAT 2023 syllabus. Before the exam, students can just read those notes and complete their revisions. It is helpful to make short notes on all the important topics of the SLAT exam. 
• Read Newspapers Daily: Candidates who are preparing for SLAT 2023 should read newspapers, articles, journals and legal reports daily. Newspapers will help in preparing for the English and Current Affairs section, legal aptitude and WAT session. There might be complex passages in the examination, hence reading newspapers daily will help the candidates increase their reading speed without missing out on any information.
