Subject-Wise Preparation Tips for SLAT 2022

After going through the entire syllabus of SLAT 2022, candidates need to prepare well for the exam. Here are some tips for SLAT 2022 preparation and best books for SLAT 2022 that aspirants must adhere to in order to ensure a great SLAT 2022 result.

Logical Reasoning

  • A candidate must be well aware of the basics of the logical reasoning section. It requires clarity in concepts otherwise the question becomes hard to solve.

  • The logical reasoning subject requires practice. Only practising the questions regularly can grant the students speed and accuracy.

  • It is advised to the students to solve sample problems, sample papers, previous year’s question papers and mock tests in order to do well in logical reasoning.

  • Some of the books that candidates can refer to are Objective Logical Reasoning by S Chand and A Modern Approach to Logical Reasoning by RS Agarwal.

Legal Reasoning

  • The legal reasoning subject of SLAT 2022 consists of three primary areas that are Legal G.K., Legal Facts and Principle-Fact. Candidates must have a good knowledge of principles and their application. It reduces a lot of reading time and time for comprehension.

  • Aspirants must mark that no prejudices or the knowledge of law outside the principles should affect the choice of the answer of the candidate.

  • Candidates must go through mock tests, previous year’s questions and sample papers to ensure accuracy in the final exam. Solving sample papers provides clarity regarding the type of questions to the candidates.

  • Applicants can refer to Legal Awareness and Legal Reasoning by Pearson and Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning by A P Bhardwaj to solidify their understanding of the subject.

Analytical Reasoning

  • Analytical Reasoning of SLAT 2022 requires clarity of subjects and topics. It is essential for the candidates to keep a strong basic foundation of the concepts of Analytical Reasoning.

  • The questions based on Analytical Reasoning are not technical. They are pretty simple if the aspirant treats them like a puzzle instead of questions.

  • Candidates must remember that it is a practice that would help them ace the questions based on Analytical Reasoning. Practice not only makes the concepts clear but also enhances accuracy and speed.

  • Solve previous year’s question papers, sample papers, practice papers and mock tests to stay regular with the practice.

  • The books that candidates must pick up to practice for the analytical reasoning section are Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning by RS Agarwal, Analytical Reasoning by M K Pandey and Logical and Analytical Reasoning by A K Gupta.

General Knowledge

  • Candidates willing to prepare for the SLAT 2022 General Knowledge subject must be aware of the fact that the questions are factual for the General Knowledge subject.

  • The last thing that the General Knowledge section requires is guesswork because all the questions are factual. Either you know the answer, or you do not. There is no middle ground.

  • It has no calculation work or no analysis work. If a candidate is well prepared, he can save a lot of time whilst attempting the General Knowledge section.

  • Studying for the general knowledge section strategically can help an individual in getting a good score. Candidates must pick up only reliable and original study materials. Picking up random books and studying cover to cover is a complete no-no.

  • Aspirants must not skip reading newspapers. They are the most authentic source of information. Reading editorials and news helps a lot in performing better in the final exam.

  • Apart from newspapers, candidates can refer to magazines like Pratiyogita Darpan, Chronicle and Competition Success Review. Aspirants can also refer to Lucent’s Objective GK 2020 and Disha Experts for better understanding.

General English

  • Understanding the type of questions and time management is the key to the General English section. It consists of Reading Comprehension that might absorb most of the time of the candidates.

  • Candidates need to capture the main idea or the central theme of the passage and then answer the questions around it.

  • Instead of reading the passage first, it is advisable to go through the questions prior to the passage. Doing this would make the candidate aware of what answers he/she is seeking. It might help in saving a lot of time.

  • Read a lot. It not only enhances your grammar but also helps you in composing better sentences.

  • To solve contextually based questions the aspirants must have a clear understanding of the concepts and principles of English.

  • English should not be taken lightly by the candidates as it has equal weightage just like other subjects.

  • In order to prepare for the General English subject, candidates should study Objective English for Competitive Examination by Tata McGraw Hill, High School English Grammar and Composition by Wren and Martin and Quick Learning Objective General English by RS Aggarwal.

Detailed Preparation Tips for SLAT 2022

For a candidate to prepare for SLAT 2022, it is important to read and implement the preparation tips mentioned below.

Make a Plan- Formulating and chalking out a plan is very important for the candidates appearing for SLAT 2022. It clears the strategies and ideas of the aspirants which makes them easy to implement.

Time Management- Managing time is key to getting a good score. An aspirant must know how to use the time on his/her hands constructively. Wasting time can hamper the preparation of the candidates. An applicant must distribute the timings, dividing the study and recreation time as per the requirement.

Know your Syllabus- Being aware of the syllabus and the topics are essential and key factors in order to prepare for SLAT 2022. A candidate should always be aware of what all needs to be studied and should not miss any of the topics as it might hamper the final score in SLAT 2022.

Take Sufficient Rest- Stacking up books and immersing yourself in them for the entire day is not the ideal way of preparation. Aspirants must devote time to rest in between study sessions. Studying continuously exhausts the brain of the candidate and it is left with no energy to absorb more information. An applicant should sleep for 6-7 hours every day and should take a balanced diet in order to stay fresh and ready for any challenges.

Practice- Practice is the secret behind many success stories. A candidate must study and practice religiously through sample papers, previous year’s question papers and books for a better outcome. It not only increases the speed and accuracy but also provides the candidates with a rough idea of the type of questions that might land up on the question paper.

With dedication and hard work, nothing is impossible. Candidates preparing for SLAT 2022 are advised to stay calm and confident throughout the preparation period and during the exam. It will lead to a successful SLAT 2022 result. CollegeDekho wishes you Good Luck!
