Western Michigan University (WMU) is a public research university located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was established in 1903 as Western State Normal School and received university status in 1957. Western Michigan University is the only university which is fully accredited as the fine arts college in Michigan. The U.S. News & World Report has ranked the Western Michigan University in the top 11% of universities nationwide. It is one of the most affordable and eco-friendly universities of the United States.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Western Michigan University is divided into five campuses namely the College of Aviation (Battle Creek, MI), Oakland Drive Campus, Parkview Campus, West Campus and the East campus. West Campus is the main campus of WMU and it is also the largest university campus in Kalamazoo. WMU offers 256 undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the campus. Additionally, 100 study abroad programmes are offered across 40 different countries. The university provides a secure and healthy environment for students to actively engage in education and learning. The WMU community is growing steadily with a mission to encourage young and energetic minds to be involved in activities and services and serve the public and society. 

Accomplishments & Alumni

WMU’s College of Aviation is recognised as one of the best aviation colleges in the world. The aviation programme offered at MMU Aviation College is the third largest aviation program in the country. The College of Engineering and Applied Sciences of WMU at the Parkview Campus hosts more than 40 companies in the field of sciences, technology and advanced engineering. Western Michigan University has a number of notable alumni who are actors, authors, producers, singers, politicians and professionals serving society in different fields. WMU has an Alumni Association which is dedicated to help an entire community both on campus and off campus.
