FAQs

How can I use the bare acts effectively in the AIBE exam?

You should: Avoid commentaries or guides — only unannotated bare acts are permitted. Underline key definitions and sections (without writing notes). Practice mock tests using the same set of bare acts you plan to carry to the exam.

How many questions typically come from Professional Ethics and Bar Council Rules?

The Professional Ethics section usually contributes around 4 questions out of the total 100.

Should I focus on new criminal laws (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, BNSS, and BSA) or the old IPC/CrPC/Evidence Acts?

The Bar Council of India (BCI) has announced that AIBE-XIX (2026) will incorporate the new criminal law codes — Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), only if they are officially implemented and notified in the examination syllabus.

Why are these five subjects considered ‘low-risk’ for last-minute revision?

They are termed low-risk because their questions are direct, factual, and largely derived from the bare acts. AIBE focuses on definitions, sections, and basic principles.

Which subjects carry the highest weightage in AIBE 2026?

The subjects that carry high weightage consistently include Constitutional Law, Criminal Law (IPC + CrPC), Code of Civil Procedure, Evidence Act, and Professional Ethics (40-45% of total questions).
