Bihar Board Scraps BCECE for Engineering Admissions, JEE Main to Replace BCECE
B.Tech admissions in Bihar will be based on JEE Main score from 2019. Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Exam Board (BCECEB) has scrapped BCECE entrance exam for Bihar B.Tech admissions.
Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Exam Board (BCECEB) has scrapped BCECE entrance exam for B.Tech admissions in Bihar . Engineering colleges (government and private) will accept JEE Main score for B.Tech admissions from the academic session 2019-20. Similarly, NEET-UG score is considered for UG courses in Veterinary Sciences at Bihar Veterinary College.
Candidates aspiring for B.Tech admission in Bihar must clear JEE Main from the upcoming academic session. At the same time, candidates aspiring for admission in Veterinary Science courses (UG) must clear NEET-UG.

BCECEB will conduct a separate counselling process for B.Tech admissions through JEE Main score. Students must register for Bihar B.Tech counselling separately through the official website of BCECEB. The board will prepare a merit list based on JEE Main rank of the candidates, and the admission process shall be conducted accordingly. The detailed new guidelines for Bihar B.Tech counselling process shall be notified soon.
As NTA is conducting JEE Main twice a year, Bihar engineering aspirants can appear for JEE Main exam that will take place in April 2019. The registration process for JEE Main 2019 exam will begin soon. Students can visit the official website of NTA to register for JEE Main exam.

The state domicile rules shall remain the same for the Bihar B.Tech admissions. Candidates belonging to Bihar domicile will be considered for admission under state quota.
