Bihar UGEAC Counselling/ Admission 2024 - The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Exam Board (BCECEB) has released the Bihar UGEAC second round seat alloment result on August 9, 2024. Candidates should be aware that after the online registration for admission to BE / B.Tech course is over, based on which seat allotment for all rounds of counselling will be conducted. The seat allotment will be conducted in online mode for a total of two rounds.

Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Exam Board (BCECEB) is responsible for organizing B.Tech admissions in Bihar. The name of the admission process has been changed to Under Graduate Engineering Admission Counselling (UGEAC).

Bihar is one of the states in India where B.Tech admission process is conducted based on the national-level exam, i.e., JEE Main 2024 . Students with minimum qualifications prescribed by BCECEB and a valid entrance test score can secure admission to Bihar engineering colleges. Entrance Exams Accepted by Bihar Engineering Colleges 2024

BCECE has stopped conducting a separate entrance exam for Bihar B.Tech admission, and the admission process will be based on JEE Main rank.

Bihar UGEAC Eligibility Criteria 2024

The eligibility criteria for B.Tech admission in Bihar can be categorized as follows –

Age Limit

B.Tech admission in Bihar does not have any upper age limit. Candidates applying for admission must be 17 years of age as of the year of admission.

Domicile Rules

Applicants may apply for the Bihar B.Tech counselling process if they are Class 12 graduates. Under the state quota, Bihar permanent residents who have lived in the state for ten years are also eligible to apply for admission to the B.Tech programme. Applicants can also apply for admission to the B.Tech programme in Bihar if their parents work for the government of that state.

Academic Requirements

For B.Tech admission in Bihar, a candidate must have passed Class 12 with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) as the main subjects. The candidates must note that they should have at least 40-45% of marks in Class 12 to be eligible for B.Tech admission in Bihar.

Bihar UGEAC Admission Process 2024

A cutoff score for the JEE Main exam will be established by the Bihar B.Tech admissions authority. The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Exam Board's cutoff will determine which candidates make it onto the merit list for admission to the B.Tech programme in Bihar. The B.Tech counselling process in Bihar will only take into consideration candidates who are on the merit list. Applicants can review the steps listed below to register for the Bihar UGEAC Counselling 2024.

Step 1: Registration

  • To register, the candidates must fill out the information requested in Step One of the application form, which appears on the computer screen

  • Now enter JEE Main 2024 application number, then click the verify button, enter Date of Birth, and finally click OK to verify

  • If Data gets verified then proceed with further process else provide your correct credentials like

  • JEE Main 2024 Application No. and Date of Birth

  • While registering, candidates must ensure that they have provided their own email address and phone number, since all registration-related information will be delivered to the same email address and phone number

  • The candidate must validate their mobile number and email address by entering a verification code issued to their respective cellphone number and email address

  • Following successful registration and verification of mobile number and email address, the mobile number and email address will not be modified under any circumstances.

  • After successfully registering, candidates will get an email and a message confirming their registration

  • After that, the candidate must connect to their account by providing their registered email ID and password, and then proceed with the other actions to successfully submit their online application form

  • The candidate is responsible for keeping the password submitted in the Application Form secret; otherwise, the BCECE Board will not be held liable for any complications

  • The candidate's email address will serve as a username

Step 2: Personal Information

After successfully registering and activating the account, the applicant should "Sign in" to his account again and then complete the essential personal information entries on the computer screen. Then press the "Submit & Continue" button.

Step 3: Upload Photo and Signature

The candidate must first submit their data, then scan and upload a passport-size, high-contrast photo (taken with a placard bearing the candidate's name and the date of the photo shoot), along with their full signature in both Hindi and English (without capital letters). Click "Submit & Continue" once your photo and signature have been uploaded.

Step 4: Educational Qualification

Following the upload of the scanned photo and signature, the candidate should enter their educational information on the computer screen and click on the "Submit & Continue" option.

Step 5: Preview your application

Following the submission of their educational records, the candidate is required to confirm all of the information they have provided. Should any information be discovered to be inaccurate, the candidate ought to select "Back to Edit" and make the required modifications. In order to update the entered data, the candidate should next click the "Submit & Continue" button.

If the preview of the application form is deemed to be valid, the applicant must provide his or her Declaration and click the "Confirm & Submit" button in order to pay the Examination Fee.

Step 6: Payment of Application Fees

After reviewing and completing the Application Form, the candidate should click the "Proceed to Payment" option and follow the instructions on the computer screen to finish the payment procedure for the Counselling Fee. Counselling fees paid will not be reimbursed.

If the applicant wishes to pay the Counselling Fee online, he or she should pick the online option from the payment mechanism displayed on the computer screen and "Make the Payment" using a credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI.

For online payments, the candidate must pay a processing fee in addition to the Counselling Fee.

Step 7: Download Part- A & Part B

The candidate must download a hard copy (Parts A and B) of the online application form and keep it safe in his possession after paying the counselling fee by the deadline. This is because the hard copy contains all of the information provided by the candidate and the UGEAC-ID that the Board has made available for use during counselling.

Merit List Preparation

A merit list of applicants will be compiled by the admissions authority using the candidates' entrance exam results and Class 12 PCM subject scores. On the merit list will be all applicants who pass the state-level entrance exam with the required minimum score. Each candidate will receive a rank to give them a sense of where they stand on the merit list. Those who make the merit list for Bihar B.Tech admissions can move forward with choice entry on the dates that the admissions committee has set.

The selection of candidates will be based on the merit list and rank. In all, the admission/ selection procedure for B.Tech admissions in Bihar is completely based on merit. Only those candidates who take part in the counselling process will be granted B.Tech admission subject to merit and availability of seats.

Bihar UGEAC Admission Reservation Policy 2024

Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Exam Board will fill 100% of seats in government engineering colleges and a specific percentage of seats in private engineering colleges across the state. Seats filled by the admission authority are treated as state quota seats. The reservation policy of the Bihar government applies to state quota engineering admissions. The seats are distributed across various categories as follows –

B.Tech admissions in Bihar are bound to the reservation policy as mentioned above. The admission committee will make a decision on the transfer of seats to a specific category if seats fall vacant in any of the above categories.

Bihar UGEAC Counselling Process 2024

The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Exam Board will be conducting an E-Counselling procedure for candidates who pass the JEE Main entrance exam and are deemed eligible for the B.Tech counselling process. For Bihar B.Tech admissions, there is a specific registration for an e-counseling process run by the admission authority. The fact that there is no set registration fee for the counselling process should be noted by candidates who qualify to participate in the e-counseling process. To take part in the counselling process, candidates must pay the registration fee.

The counselling process for Bihar B.Tech admissions is as follows –

Registration for E-Counselling:

Registration for e-counselling will start in July 2024. Follow the steps below for e-counseling registration –

  • The candidates must visit the official website ‘BCECE Admissions’

  • Read the instructions carefully and click on ‘I Agree’

  • The registration form will flash on the screen now

  • Select the course (B.Tech) and enter your BCECE Roll Number, Registration Number, Date of Birth, and Name.

  • Enter the security code displayed.

  • Check the above details and click on the ‘Submit’ button.

  • More columns will be displayed now

  • The candidates must fill in the Class 12 passing status by clicking on the Radio Button

  • Enter the marks scored in Class 12 exams in the columns specified

  • Finally, create a password with alphanumeric characters

  • An OTP will be sent to the candidate’s mobile number after entering the password

  • Enter the OPT and click on the ‘Confirm Registration’ option

  • The registration process is completed now

Choice Filling:

  • After the completion of the registration process as mentioned above, the candidates must click on the “Fill Choice Button”. The option can be found in the Menu bar on the screen.

  • Instructions will be displayed on the screen, and the candidates are advised to read the instructions carefully before Choice Filling.

  • The choice filling form will have two blocks. The left block will have the list of colleges and engineering branches in alphabetical order. The right block will have choices filled by the candidates.

  • If the candidates wish to select a college, they will have to click on the ‘Add’ button. The college selected by the candidates will appear on the right block.

  • There is no limit on the number of colleges that candidates can choose in the choice-filling form

  • The candidates can SWAP or Move the choices according to his/ her priority.

  • It is advisable to add a maximum number of colleges in the choice filling the form for better admission chances.

  • After filling in the choices, click on the ‘Save Choice’ button or ‘Save and Exit’ button

  • The candidates must note that choice filling is a one-time option, and the same will not be allowed for the second and third rounds of the counselling process.

Choice Locking:

  • The choice-locking facility will be activated after the successful completion of the choice-filling process.

  • If you are satisfied with the choices that you have added to the choice filling form, click on the ‘Lock Choices’ button.

  • It is mandatory to enter the password to lock choices.

  • After entering the password, click on the ‘Submit’ button to lock the choices.

  • The candidates can also unlock the choices within the specified date to make modifications.

  • After locking the choices, click on the ‘Print Locked Choice’ button.

  • Take the printout of the choice entry form and keep it for future reference.

The initial stages of the Bihar B.Tech counselling process conclude with choice entry and locking. The seat allotment procedure follows next.

Bihar UGEAC Seat Allotment Procedure 2024

Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Exam Board will conduct three stages of the counselling process. Candidates who do not secure admission in the first round can take part in Round 2 or 3. The seat allotment procedure involves the following stages –

Intimation of Seat Allotment

The admission authority will release seat allotment results on its website, and the candidates can check his/ her seat allotment status from the official website. The candidates will also receive an SMS regarding their seat allotment. After checking the seat allotment status on the official website, the candidates must take the printout of the seat allotment letter (at least three copies).

Candidates who do not secure admission in Round 1 can wait until Round 2/ 3 for the up-gradation of seat/ allotment.

Admission Fee Payment

Along with the admission allotment letter and relevant documents, the candidates must report to the nearest reporting center with a Demand Draft of INR 2,500 in favor of the allocated institute. The next stage is document verification.

Verification of Documents at the Reporting Centre

The candidates must carry all the relevant documents to the reporting center. The admission of the candidates will be confirmed only after depositing INR 2,500 and document verification. The candidates are required to appear for the document verification process at the Reporting / Nodal Centre. The UGEAC 2024 seat allotment order will have the name and address of the Reporting / Nodal Centre which the candidates have to visit for document verification. The allotment order will also mention the date for reporting.

Reporting to College

Report to the college within the specified date with all the relevant documents and pay the remaining first-year B.Tech tuition fee (if any). The candidates who fail to report for document verification as per the schedule will be eliminated from the counselling process and their seats will be included in the consequent counselling round. Such candidates will not be permitted in the further rounds of the counselling process.

Bihar UGEAC Reporting Centres 2024

The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) will set up various reporting centres for document verification across various districts of the state. Candidates have to carry all the educational and related documents along with them to the reporting centre for verification purpose. It is mandatory for all candidates after the seat allotment to report to the verification centre for document verification.
