According to the official information disclosed by the Minister for State for Health, Mr. Ashwini Kumar in Rajya Sabha, the average NEET score of a student who got admission in MBBS under All-India Quota from the state of Tamil Nadu was 144.55. Even though the Minister did not provide the data of average NEET scores of students seeking admission under AIQ, he has given the average NEET scores of six states. The Health Ministry has data of seven states. Along with the average states, data on the state-wise pass percentage of students in NEET 2019 was also disclosed.
State-Wise Average NEET Score under AIQ Admission (2019)

Mr. Ashwin Kumar said that the above information was obtained from the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the NEET entrance exam every year. However, there was no information on the average mark of a student seeking admission under 85% state quota.
The Minister also explained the syllabus referred to prepare NEET question paper last year was based on the common syllabus notified by the Board of Governors of Medical Council of India (MCI).
With NEET UG becoming the only entrance exam for MBBS admissions from 2020, we can expect a marginal rise in the average score of students seeking admission under AIQ. Also, there are a good number of chances for implementing NEET UG for B.Sc Nursing Admissions from 2021.
The number of candidates appearing for NEET 2020 may be expected to increase, as NEET replaced JIPMER and AIIMS MBBS exams. At the same, NEET score is mandatory to pursue medical courses abroad, and there are good chances that more students are going to take NEET exam in 2020.
