The selection criteria of CENTAC Diploma Polytechnic 2023 has been enumerated below-
For Regular and Lateral Entry Mode of Entry
The total percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination will determine the merit of a candidate.Where grades are awarded instead of marks in the qualifying examination, only the minimum marks applicable to the respective grades in a particular subject will be taken into account.
For Part-Time Mode of Entry
The marks secured in the qualifying examination will be reduced to a base of 80 marks. The minimum marks applicable to the respective grades in the particular subject will be taken into account for determining the merit rank. 20 % Weightage will be given to work experience obtained after clearing the qualifying examination. 4 marks for each completed year of experience will be given with a maximum of 20 marks.
CENTAC Diploma Polytechnic Merit List 2023
CENTAC has released the draft merit list for Diploma Polytechnic Admission 2023 on its official website. The final merit list will be announced soon by the authorities in the online mode. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in Class 10th. All the candidates who feature in the CENTAC merit list shall be considered eligible for the counselling and seat allotment process.
Tie-Breaking Policy: If there is a tie between two more candidates after calculating the Class 10 marks, the tie will be resolved by considering the Date of Birth. Candidates older in age will be given preference in the order of merit. If the tie still persists, the random number shall be taken into consideration to resolve the tie.

The mode of counselling for Polytechnic admission in Puducherry is online, and the candidates must note that the seat allotment process is processed online. The candidates will receive communication from CENTAC on their mobile phones from time to time. The candidates are advised to keep checking the SMS regularly. CENTAC Diploma Polytechnic Seat Allotment 2023
The seat allotment is released on the official website of CENTAC. The candidates will have to confirm the admission through the official website and must download the seat allotment letter/ provisional admission order. Usually, when the seat allotment letter is released, the candidates will have four options to choose from –
Option 1 | The candidates can accept the seat allotment and refrain from other rounds of counselling. |
Option 2 | Candidates who want an upgrade/ internal sliding in seat allotment can accept the existing allotment and can take part in the next round of counselling. If the candidate gets a better allotment in the next round, the previous seat allotment will stand cancelled. If the candidate does not get an upgrade in the allotment, he either can choose to go with a previously allotted seat or can participate in the next round of counselling. |
Option 3 | The candidate can reject the seat allotment and opt for the next round of counselling. |
Option 4 | The candidate can reject the seat allotment and opt-out of subsequent rounds of counselling. |
