How Do Students Feel about Changes in JEE Main Exam Dates?

Here are some of the opinions expressed by JEE Main exam aspirants with regard to changes in exam dates -

Student Safety First: No doubt that student safety is the foremost criteria to be ensured before conducting the exam. As the stress related to Covid19 is normalized now, conducting the exam early is a better option for the lakhs of students appearing for the exam.

Mental Stress & Pressure: Some of the students preparing for JEE Main expressed that changes in exam dates affecting them mentally. Students will have to prepare for their higher secondary exam along with JEE Main simultaneously. This aspect is causing mental stress in them.

Good Decision by Government: Some students expressed that the government took a good decision by preponing the exam in January. Due to the uncertainty over the exam dates, most of the students were not able to prepare for the exam properly.

What is the Right Strategy to Prepare for JEE Main January Exam?

Yes. This is the right question at the moment, as we need to think about what strategy works for the September exam of JEE Main. According to the analysis done by CollegeDekho, the following strategy can be one of the options -

Do Not Study Long Hours: Students who had already spent one year for JEE Main preparation need not study long hours for the January exam. Note down some important points and formulas from different chapters on a paper. Stick them on a wall in your room. Whenever you get time, just go through that point or formulas so that you will always stay on track.

Apart from this, you can spend your time by listening to various lectures on YouTube, SWAYAM Portal or Abhyas App. Use digital resources to the full extent.

Give Importance to Practice Tests: Rather than sitting long hours revising chapters or syllabus, it is advisable to give more importance to practice tests. You can practice tests online or buying some books available in market or e-commerce platforms. Compete yourself in each practice test. If you marked 20 wrong answers in the first test, improve your preparation and make sure that your wrong count reduces in the second test.

Try to Make Your Weakness as Strength: As there are almost two months for the entrance exam. You can try to make your weakness as a strength. If you are not good at one subject (Mathematics/ Physics/ Chemistry), try to gain competency in that particular subject so that you can score better percentile in the entrance exam. Note that the exam postponement is not worrying you and it is giving you additional strength to score the best.

Maintain Good Physical Health: As all students are staying at home due to Covid-19 outbreak, there is no scope for maintaining Physical fitness. Therefore, spend at least 1-2 hours for physical exercise. You can also help your parents with household chores for at least one hour in a day so that you can maintain good physical health. This will help you in preparing for the exam effectively.

Conclusion

The JEE Main 2023 exam will be conducted as per schedule in January and April, 2023. So, we advise you to not give up and keep doing your best. Stay positive and get rid of any mental stress or pressure. Situations are going to turn normal in the coming days. These are just testing times for every individual and the way we cope up with the situation indicates our mental strength.

All the Best!
