In an attempt to bring more Indian students to Ireland, the Government of Ireland has announced scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate students, worth, 12,00,000 euros. The government has scheduled a virtual showcase on February 27th 2021, where in 20 of the top Higher Education Institutions will be brought together with prospective students from India and Sri Lanka.
The Govenment highlighted that scholarships worth 3,00,000 euros have been ear-marked for students from Sri Lanka.
The Director of Education in Ireland, Giles O’Neill stated that international students will be offered a number of different merit-based scholarships. Apart from these, Education in Ireland will be offering 10 Indian students scholarships on the day of the showcase.
During the virtual showcase that has been designed specifically for students from South Asian countries, will include the top 20 top higher education institutions. These HEIs are renowned for their undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering, business, science and humanities.
Included among the 20 HEIs, that are expected to participate during the virtual showcase are Trinity College Dublin, the Institute of Technology Carlow, Athlone Institute of Technology, the University of College Cork and Dundalk Institute of Technology among others.
In a statement released by Barry O’Driscoll, regional manager of India and South Asia under Education in Ireland, the virtual showcase will the second version of its kind and will provide a platform for continuous ative and agents, rreal-time meetings with students, live Q&A sessions, video and audio chats with faculty and experts from the institutions. The virtual showcase will be a common platform to assist students, and thus, in a more viable manner, boost commitment.
Those participating in the event will also be able to attend seminars and info sessions regarding studying in Ireland. Students will be able to communicate their doubts and questions with college representeceive advice from official Irish government officials, understand the different scholarships on offer, understand the visa processes and much more.
