All students must meet the detailed eligibility criteria listed below to participate in the Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing admission 2026 process. Candidates who fail to meet any of the following conditions will not be eligible to take part in the TN BSc Nursing counselling 2026.

  • All students must have completed their 10+2 in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as core subjects, with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (OC/BC/BCM/MBC/DNC categories). SC/SCA/ST candidates require a minimum of 40% aggregate marks.
  • Candidates must pass English with a minimum of 35% marks.
  • Students must be citizens of India and domiciled in the state of Tamil Nadu.
  • Tamil Nadu domiciled students will be given preference, and must produce residency proof, nativity certificates, and proof of primary education in a state-recognised board.
  • Non-native students can also participate in the TN BSc Nursing admission 2026 if they have completed their 10+2 from a Tamil Nadu-recognised board and produce proof of their nativity certificates.
  • Tamil Nadu native students will only be eligible for communal reservations, while non-natives of Tamil Nadu will be treated as Open Competition (OC) category candidates.
  • Students from other states who have completed 8th to 12th grade and their Diploma in Nursing in Tamil Nadu will be classified under the Open Competition (OC) category.
  • The minimum age requirement is 17 years as on December 31, 2026. The maximum age is 30 years for OC/BC/BCM/MBC/DNC candidates and 35 years for SC/SCA/ST candidates.
  • Married candidates are also eligible to apply

The raw scores from different boards are normalised and scaled down to a maximum of 200 marks to ensure uniformity across state and central board candidates.

Tie-Breaking Policy: If two or more candidates obtain equal normalised marks, the tie is resolved in the following order:
