The counselling process for M.Tech/ M.E/ M.Plan/ M.Arch will begin from August 28, 2020. Anna University conducts TANCA (Tamil Nadu Common Admission) for these courses on the basis of TANCET score.
Every year Anna University, on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu conducts Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) through which aspirants seeking admission into MBA, MCA, M.Arch, M.E, M.Tech and M.Planning courses offered by various colleges in the Tamil Nadu state, fulfil their dream. TANCET is conducted in an offline mode where thousands of students from different societal and economic backgrounds compete against each other for the limited number of seats in the TANCET participating colleges.
TANCET is a state-level entrance exam which is usually conducted in the month of June every year. The TANCET application process usually begins in the month of May and official notification regarding the same is also released on the official Anna University website. A Technical University in the Tamil Nadu state, Anna University is the only authorized body to conduct the TANCET examination in multiple shifts, mostly over the duration of two days.
The TANCET exam is a 120-minute long exam which consists of 100 questions in the objective format. There are more than 400 colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu which accepts TANCET scores for filling up their vacant MBA, MCA, M.Arch, M.E, M.Tech and M.Planning programmes seats.
The TANCET participating colleges also accepts GATE scores for offering admission into the M.E or M.Tech programmes. Such candidates will be exempted from appearing in the TANCET entrance examination.
