About MMC Madurai
Madurai Medical College is one of the premier medical colleges spread in an area of 18.39 acres and is situated very close to the Government Rajaji hospital of Madurai. The college was inaugurated over 60 years ago by the honorable chief minister K.Kamaraj and the union health minister Rajkumari Amrit Kaur.
Madurai Medical College is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University and is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO). Along with carrying out academic studies, the hospital services are also available in the college. It is considered to be a center of excellence in the state of Tamil Nadu for conducting various surgeries and have doctors available 24x7 of all departments. The patients admitted to the institution are taken care of with sophisticated modern techniques and types of equipment.
MMC Madurai offers many UG, PG, Diploma and Certificate courses under various specializations. The curriculum of the courses is designed with a definite model titled AETCOM “Attitude, Ethics and Communication Model” that provides a competency-based medical education program envisaged by the Medical Council of India. The admission to the courses offered is based on merit in the qualifying examination and entrance exam scores.
