The West Bengal government claims to have admitted all 422 Ukraine-returned as well as three workers from the state who were rescued from Ukraine.
According to an official statement issued by the WB state government, 412 of the total returnees were medical students, including 409 MBBS and three dental students. In addition, six engineering students, one veterinary student, and three labourers were saved from Ukraine.
Banerjee asserts that the national government is "indifferent" to these learners, and her state has made adequate provisions for Ukraine-returned students.

According to her, the West Bengal government has done its best to accommodate the majority of Ukraine-returned students in private and government Indian institutes.
As per the state government, all six engineering students have been offered seats in private engineering colleges affiliated with the JIS group, with two of them already enrolled and others in the process of enrolling.
One dental student who has completed his studies will be permitted to work as an intern at the Govt. Dental College in Kolkata.
The remaining two students in their second year of medical school will be permitted to undertake observership and practical lessons at the state's government dental colleges.
The veterinary student has been admitted to the WB University of Animal & Fishery Sciences for the upcoming academic year.
Among the total medical students, 23 are in their sixth year and will be permitted to complete internships at Government Medical Colleges in line with the norms.

Students in their fifth and fourth years will be permitted to take 'observing seats' at various medical institutions in a distributed way. Each state-based college will be assigned about 15-20 students.
Two Ukraine-returned workers have been assigned to the Nadia DM office as DRWs (casual workers). Their families have also been given a loan to start a small business, while the third person has gone for a job in Dubai, according to the government of West Bengal.
