About MBBS Course:

MBBS Eligibility Criteria:

  • It is necessary for MBBS aspirants to study English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics up to class 12.
  • If you are aspiring to apply for MBBS courses, you must not be younger than 17 years old or older than 25 years old.
  • MBBS aspirants must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks in exams conducted by a recognised board of education.

MBBS Entrance Exams in India:

There are two major MBBS entrance exams in India basis which admissions are conducted. With the introduction of NEET as a mandatory medical entrance exam, most of the private medical colleges have eliminated their separate entrance exams for admission.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET):

The NEET entrance exam is conducted for admission in MBBS and BDS courses across India. The Government of India has made the NEET exam mandatory for admission in medical courses offered by Indian Medical Colleges. NEET is conducted for a duration of 3 hours.

For each correct answer, you will be awarded 4 marks, whereas, 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. Admission to the 52,305 MBBS seats offered by top medical colleges in India is done on the basis of NEET score.

All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) MBBS Entrance Exam:

AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam is conducted for admission to the MBBS programme offered by the reputed All India Institutes of Medical Science in India. The duration of the exam is 3 hours and 30 minutes.

Each correct answer in this exam will get you 1 mark and for every incorrect answer, 1/3 marks will be deducted. AIIMS MBBS is considered to be one of the toughest medical entrance exams in India.

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) MBBS:

JIPMER MBBS Exam is conducted for admission to JIPMER’s Puducherry and Karaikal campus offering 150 and 50 MBBS seats respectively. Like AIIMS, JIPMER has been allowed to conduct its own entrance exam for admission to MBBS courses.

Students are awarded 1 mark for each correct answer. There is no negative marking scheme in the JIPMER MBBS entrance exam.

MBBS Job and Salary Scope:

Being one of the most reputed professions across the world, MBBS is a good degree to start with if you want to become a doctor. Salary after completing the course will depend upon your experience and knowledge. However, experience increases as your practice increases and so does the salary.

At an initial stage, the salary of an MBBS graduate can vary from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 35,000 per month. Doctors who earn reputation and trust within the community can also earn up to Rs. 9 lakh per year. Salary options are better after pursuing post-graduation in this field.
