CUET 2026 marking scheme is one of the important aspects of the Common Universities Entrance Test 2026 exam pattern. CUET 2026 examination consists of 3 sections. Section I is language and Section II consists of Domain Subjects. Section III includes the General Aptitude Test and is common for all the students. There are a uniform number of questions in each section, i.e. 50 questions for 5 marks each.CUET UG 2026question paper will be in MCQ format, and the medium of question paper will be in English apart from the language test. However, over the years, the NTA has made many changes and has simplified the exam structure for 2026 to reduce student burden. Students must note the key changes that have been implemented in CUET 2026 Marking Scheme.
Key Changes in 2026:
- Subject Limit: Candidates can now choose a maximum of 5 subjects
- Duration: The duration of all subjects is 60 minutes for all subject tests (including Languages and Domains)
- Compulsory Questions: In the current 2026 pattern, students are required to attempt all 50 questions in each paper.
- Total Marks: Since each subject carries 250 marks, a candidate appearing for all 5 subjects will be evaluated out of a total of 1250 marks.
The overview of the CUET marking scheme 2026 is as follows:
- For every correct answer, five marks will be awarded.
- For each incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted
- No Marks will be awarded or deducted for unattempted questions
- In case more than one answer is found to be correct then five marks will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
- If all answers (options) are correct, then five marks will be awarded to all test takers who have attempted the question.
- If none of the options is correct, a question is incorrect, or a question is dropped, all candidates who attempted the dropped question will receive five marks.
