GATE 2025 PE Cutoff Marks:GATE 2025 PE qualifying cutoff marks have been released by IIT Roorkee at gate2025.iitr.ac.in. The GATE Petroleum Engineering qualifying cutoff 2025 for general category is 31.1, for OBC-NCL/EWS is 27.9 and for SC/ST/PwD is 20.7. IIT Roorkee released GATE 2025 result on March 19, 2025. The cutoff scores are the minimum qualifying marks required to pass theGATE 2025 exam. The cutoff scores are released separately for all the categories, namely General, OBC/EWS, and SC/ST/PwD. The GATE 2025 cutoff scores for Petroleum Engineering has been determined based on factors such as the number of students appeared, the overall difficulty level of the paper and competition among examinees, the availability of seats in theGATE 2025 participating colleges, and the previous years' cutoff trends. The Petroleum Engineering paper in GATE does not have many takers. Usually, around 1,700-2,000 students sit for the exam every year. However, only about 20% of the total examinees pass the exam. In 2024, 1,770 students opted for the GATE PE paper, of which only 386 met the minimum qualifying cutoff score. In this article, we have provided the category-wise GATE 2025 PE qualifying cutoff marks along with the cutoff mark trends from the past few years.

Over the years the GATE PE qualifying marks for the General category have changed significantly. In 2024, the GATE Petroleum Engineering cutoff stood at 42.6, which was much higher than the 34.4 recorded in the year 2023. Check the GATE 2025 PE qualifying cutoff marks in the table below.

Is the GATE 2025 PE cutoff high?

The GATE 2025 PE cutoff has changed significantly over the years. For the upcoming GATE 2025 PE exam, the cutoff is expected to be on the higher side with expected cutoff marks for the General, OBC/EWS, and SC/ST/PwD being 42 - 44, 38 - 39, and 28 - 29.5 respectively.
