Stages in IIM Calcutta MBA Admission 2024

IIM Calcutta retains the right to verify eligibility throughout the selection process. Applicants need to understand that meeting the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee shortlisting at various stages of the admissions process. The consideration for PI and WAT will involve minimum CAT percentile cut-offs. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their CAT 2023 score, along with other factors such as academic performance and gender diversity. The criteria for shortlisting and final selection for the MBA Programme are outlined as follows:

Stage I: Minimum CAT Percentiles Required 

In the initial stage of the selection process (Stage I), candidates who meet the minimum requirements for both section-wise and overall percentiles in CAT 2023, as outlined in Table 1, will be considered for shortlisting. However, this consideration is contingent upon securing non-negative raw scores in all sections of CAT 2023.   • (A/B) x 56, where A = Candidate’s CAT 2023 Total Overall Scaled Score and B = Maximum possible CAT 2023 Total Overall Scaled Score.
  • 4 points will be awarded for female and transgender candidates only.

Method of Calculation for Class 10 Marks

  • More than 80% earn 10 points.
  • Scores between 75% and 80% correspond to 8 points.
  • Within the range of 70% to 75%, candidates receive 6 points.
  • Falling between 65% and 70% results in 4 points.
  • Those with marks between 60% and 65% are awarded 2 points.
  • A score of exactly 60% carries 0 points.

Method of Calculation for Class 12 Marks

  • Achieving over 80% secures a maximum of 15 points.
  • Scores ranging from 75% to 80% are assigned 12 points.
  • Falling within the 70% to 75% range results in 9 points.
  • Marks between 65% and 70% correspond to 6 points.
  • Candidates with scores between 60% and 65% receive 3 points.
  • A score of exactly 60% results in 0 points.
