The IIM Ahmedabad CAT Cutoff is a crucial determiner for the first stage of the admission process which comprises of two stages. Stage 1 (Preliminary Screening)

In the first stage, which is known as Preliminary Screening, candidates who appeared for CAT and have a valid CAT 2023 score will be shortlisted for the Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. Stage 2 (Screening for Analytical Writing Test (AWT) & Personal Interview (PI))

Subsequently, for the next stage, candidates will be required to meet three parameters related to CAT 2023, these include attaining the minimum qualifying CAT cutoff in sectional percentile ranks, achieving an overall CAT percentile rank that meets the IIM-A cutoff criteria, and finally, obtaining a positive (greater than zero) raw score in all sections of CAT. Candidates are placed through a screening process as part of the IIM Ahmedabad admissions requirements, which are based on their prior academic performance and the CAT 2023 qualifying cutoff. The best applicants from each academic field are then listed on the AWT-PI Shortlist, which is made public by IIM Ahmedabad. This stage of the IIM Ahmedabad selection process also has two different stages which are described below:

Stage 1: This stage is dedicated to the selection of exceptional performers across different disciplines. Candidates are selected based on three distinct factors which include section-wise scores in the CAT 2023 exam, performance in Class 10 and Class 12 exams, and performance in the bachelor's degree examination. Candidates are further segregated based on different criteria and disciplines in this stage itself. Stage 2: In this stage, a merit list is created for candidates who fulfilled the criteria in the previous stage and were selected. The shortlisting during this stage is done based on the Composite Score (CS), which is calculated using the following formula:

What is the eligibility requirements for IIM Ahmedabad PGP?

The eligibility requirements for IIM Ahmedabad PGP in Management course include:

A bachelor's degree with a minimum CGPA of 50% (Minimum 45% CGPA for reserved category students).
The minimum duration of the bachelor’s degree must be three years in addition to 10+2 or its equivalent.
Final year bachelor’s degree students are also welcome to apply, provided they submit the required documentation by the deadline.
Calculation of the bachelor’s degree will be done based on the method prescribed by the university. If the institute or university does not offer a conversion plan, the equivalent will be determined by the IIM Ahmedabad and their prescribed method.

Is it possible to seek admission at IIMA if my name does not appear on the AWT-PI shortlist?

Yes, it is possible to seek admission at IIMA if a candidate is not shortlisted in the first round of the AWT-PI shortlist. Even if a candidate does not make it to the IIM Ahmedabad first shortlist, they may still be placed on the waitlist and given the opportunity to be admitted. Candidates shouldn't, however, wait to apply to IIM Ahmedabad alone.
