NEET Mop up Counselling 2023 will begin on August 31, 2023. Candidates will be able to participate in the NEET 2023 Mop up Counselling registration from August 31 to September 4, 2023. NEET Mop up Counselling 2023 is arranged by the Medical Council Committee (MCC) for the purpose of admission to those candidates who could not manage to get a seat in the first two rounds of NEET UG Counselling. NEET Mop up Counseling is only held if there are remaining seats for admission after the first two rounds. Candidates can check their respective counselling related details on MCC’s official website i.e. mcc.nic.in.The choice filling and choice locking for NEET Mop up Counselling 2023 will be conducted from September 1 to 5, 2023. Every participating college will only allow the AIQ category of 15% of the total seats and the rest of 85% will be reserved for state quotas where state medical colleges will take in candidates who belong to the respective states. Some of the important documents that students need to carry for the NEET Mop up Counselling 2023 are; admit card, passport-size photo, and valid ID proof on the day of NEET exam day 2023.

NEET Mop-up Counselling 2023: Eligibility Criteria
The registration for the NEET 2023 Mop-up Round will start soon. This round is a bit different from the first and second counseling rounds. So, it's a good idea for candidates to understand the eligibility criteria for the NEET Mop-Up round to avoid any confusion:
Who Can Participate: Only those candidates who have passed the NEET 2023 exam are allowed to take part in the mop-up round.
Open for All States: No matter where candidates are from, if they meet the NEET eligibility criteria, they can join the mop-up round. This includes seats reserved for states through the 15 percent quota.
For Those Who Didn't Get a Seat: If candidates were part of the NEET Counselling earlier but didn't get a seat in the previous rounds, they still have a chance in the Mop-Up Round.
New Registration Needed: Unlike before, candidates need to register again for the Mop-Up Round. They also need to fill in their choices again, which is a bit different from what was done before.
NEET 2023 Counselling: Registrations
The Medical Counselling Committee oversees the counseling process for 15% of the All India Quota (AIQ) seats. State counseling authorities handle counseling for the remaining 85% of state quota seats. Candidates who have qualified for NEET can apply for both counseling processes to secure admission in various medical colleges participating in NEET counseling across India. The MCC conducts centralized counseling for NEET candidates of all categories, except for candidates from Jammu and Kashmir who are not included in this process.
NEET Mop-up Counselling 2023: How To Participate
Qualified candidates must follow the steps mentioned below in order to participate in the NEET 2023 Mop-Up Round:-
Step 1: Check the seat matrix available at different medical and dental colleges in order to secure admission.
Step 2: Fill out the online form on the official website of MCC and fill in your preference. We advise you to carefully fill in and select your preferences because they can not be changed once they have been filled.
Step 3: After selecting all the choices as per the merit list, the officials will declare the seat allotment result.
Step 4: Once the seats are allocated and the result is declared, report for further formalities to the allocated institution.
Please note that the list of stray vacancies will be sent to the Deemed Universities after the mop-up round. After that, at these universities, the final vacancy round will be conducted and the vacant seat will be filled on a merit basis.

NEET 2023: Mop-up Round Process
Once the date for the NEET UG mop-up round is released by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), candidates will be able to register themselves for the mop-up round. The choice filling round begins before the mop-up round and whatever seats are left vacant after the first two rounds of counselling for NEET will be filled up in the mop-up round.
Candidates who wish to participate in the mop-up round will have to register themselves as the authority will only cater to pre-registered candidates. No fresh candidates will be accepted in this round of counselling. Before the process of registration begins for the mop-up round, the MCC also releases the list of vacant seats in different medical colleges and institutes.
