NEET 2023 Counselling Process

The NEET 2023 Counselling process is a significant step in securing admission to medical and dental courses. This process is overseen by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on behalf of the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is essential to understand the key points regarding NEET Counselling 2023:

Online Counselling Divided into Three Rounds
  • The NEET counselling 2023 will be conducted through online mode, ensuring convenience and accessibility for candidates.
  • The counselling process is divided into three distinct rounds, each serving a specific purpose and catering to different groups of candidates.
First Two Rounds for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) Seats
  • The initial two rounds of counselling are dedicated to candidates seeking admission under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ).
  • These AIQ seats are available in central and deemed universities, AFMC and ESIC institutions, as well as AIIMS and JIPMER.
Allocation Based on NEET 2023 Scores and Preferences
  • The allocation of AIQ seats is determined by a combination of NEET scores obtained by candidates and their stated preferences during counselling.
  • This ensures a fair and merit-based selection process for the available seats.
Third Round: Mop-up Round for All Candidates
  • The third round, known as the mop-up round, offers an opportunity for all candidates to participate.
  • This round is open to those who did not participate in the initial rounds or were not allocated seats previously.
State Quota Seats
  • After the completion of the first two rounds, state authorities announce the NEET counselling 2023 dates for filling up the 85% State Quota seats.
  • These seats are reserved for candidates who are residents of a specific state and have qualified NEET.
Allocation for State Quota Seats
