NEET 2024 Counselling Process

The NEET 2024 Counselling process is a significant step in securing admission to medical and dental courses. This process is overseen by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on behalf of the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is essential to understand the key points regarding NEET Counselling 2024:

Online Counselling Divided into Three Rounds
  • The NEET counselling 2024 will be conducted through online mode, ensuring convenience and accessibility for candidates.

  • The counselling process is divided into three distinct rounds, each serving a specific purpose and catering to different groups of candidates.

First Two Rounds for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) Seats
  • The initial two rounds of counselling are dedicated to candidates seeking admission under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ).

  • These AIQ seats are available in central and deemed universities, AFMC and ESIC institutions, as well as AIIMS and JIPMER.

Allocation Based on NEET 2024 Scores and Preferences
  • The allocation of AIQ seats is determined by a combination of NEET scores obtained by candidates and their stated preferences during counselling.

  • This ensures a fair and merit-based selection process for the available seats.

Third Round: Mop-up Round for All Candidates
  • The third round, known as the mop-up round, offers an opportunity for all candidates to participate.

  • This round is open to those who did not participate in the initial rounds or were not allocated seats previously.

State Quota Seats
  • After the completion of the first two rounds, state authorities announce the NEET counselling 2024 dates for filling up the 85% State Quota seats.

  • These seats are reserved for candidates who are residents of a specific state and have qualified NEET.

Allocation for State Quota Seats
  • The allocation of State Quota seats is based on NEET scores achieved by candidates and their preferences during the counselling process.

Understanding these key points about the NEET Counselling process 2024 ensures that candidates can navigate the process effectively, make informed choices, and increase their chances of securing admission to their desired medical or dental colleges.

Dear Student, For admission to the BVSc at GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology Pantnagar, the expected ranks vary by category. If you're a general category candidate, aim for a rank within 500 to 1000. For OBC candidates, the range is 600 to 1200. SC candidates should ideally secure a rank between 1500 and 2000, and for ST candidates, the rank should be between 2700 and 3200. As the actual cutoff ranks can vary each year, striving for a high rank in the entrance exam conducted by the university will increase your chances of admission. Best of luck!
