GATE CE 2026: Exam Date, Syllabus, Question Paper, Answer Key, Response Sheet

GATE CE 2026 Exam Date is February 14, 2026.IIT Guwahatiwill conduct the CE paper in two separate sessions: CE 1 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and CE 2 from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, due to higher number of registrations. Both shifts follow the GATE CE syllabus and exam pattern. Exam takers are allocated either CE-1 or CE-2 automatically. They can confirm this information after downloading theirGATE admit card.

TheGATE CE syllabusand question paper have two sections: General Aptitude consisting of 15 marks and the core subject carrying 85 marks, making a total of 100 marks. In the subject part, 13 marks are reserved for the Engineering Mathematics section. Besides this segment, there are 6 other areas such as Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering, and Geomatics Engineering.

TheGATE CE question paperhas a mix of MCQs, MSQs, and NAT questions. Negative marking is only for MCQs and will be available within a few days after the exam, along with the answer key and response sheet. The GATE CE paper has seen the highest score of 80-90 marks over the last few years. The GATE answer key 2026 will be issued a couple of days after the exam on the official website of IIT Guwahati.
