GATE 2026 Admit Card: Steps to Download Hall Ticket

The IIT Guwahati GATE 2026 will release the admit card in online mode. The exam authority doesn't send the GATE admit card by post; therefore, the responsibility of the GATE admit card lies with you. By following the steps below, you can download your GATE 2026 admit card/hall ticket.

Steps to Download the GATE 2026 Hall Ticket

Step 1: Visit the GATE 2026 official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in.

Step 2: On the home page, click on the GATE 2026 admit card download link (GOAPS portal).

Step 3: After clicking on the link, enter GATE login credentials – Enrollment ID/registered E-mail ID, Password and Security Text.

Step 4: Click on the ‘Submit’ tab.

Step 5: The GATE 2026 admit card will be displayed on the screen.

Step 6: Verify the filled details before printing the GATE admit card. 

Step 7: Download and save the GATE admit card 2026.

Before printing the GATE 2026 admit card/hall ticket, you must follow the important instructions given below:

• The GATE 2026 Registration number must be mentioned on the GATE 2026 admit card.

• You must verify all the details given on the GATE 2026 admit card.

• Your Photographs and Signatures should be clear and visible.

• Your Signature on the day of the exam and the GATE 2026 hall ticket should be the same.

• In case you find any discrepancy in your GATE admit card, then report it to the concerned authority.

Here are some other important points related to the GATE 2026 Admit Card: 

• IIT Guwahati does not send Admit cards to you at your mailing address. You must download the admit card from the GOAPS portal of GATE.

• The conducting body does not accept any request for changes in the exam centre, date, or time of the examination. You must appear for the examination on a specific date, time, and location as mentioned on the admit card.

• You must ensure that the photograph on the admit card and ID card that they carry with them on the day of the examination matches. 

• You must take the printout of the admit card in colored printed form on A4-sized paper.

• Special facility request on the day of examination is not entertained by the conducting body.

• Exam Center Address - The address or location where you must be present for the exam. Exam centres might be difficult to access if they are far away, thus applicants are urged to visit their centre one day before the exam day to ensure a smooth arrival on exam day.
• GATE Paper Code - The name of the course or programme will be stated. So, if you are studying Mechanical Engineering, your GATE Paper/Code will be ME.

ID Proofs Required with GATE 2026 Admit Card

For identification purposes, you will be required to carry your photo identification proofs in original along with your GATE 2026 admit card. It must be noted that if you fail to carry your original ID proof, then you will not be allowed inside the exam hall.

• The applicants could be given access to virtual scientific calculators for computations.
• For rough work, scribbling pads will be given. Before using the scribbling pad, the applicants must write their name and registration number on it. The scribbling pad needs to be given back to the examiner after the test.

Biometric Verification through GATE Admit Card 2026

Before taking the GATE exam 2026, you will be mandated to complete biometric verification through GATE Admit Card 2026. This is conducted at the allotted exam centres as a part of the attendance process.

• You must be aware that a scribe will only be supplied upon presentation of a certificate showing that the individual has physical impairments that prevent them from writing, as stated in the GATE 2026 information brochure.
• A person with a benchmark disability (not less than 40% disability) in the categories of blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected-BA), and cerebral palsy may only use a scribe if they request it in advance.
• Dyslexia students can take scribes if they provide a valid dyslexia certificate issued by the appropriate authorities.
• Students with less than 40% handicap who have trouble writing must send an email to pwd.gate@iitr.ac.in requesting compensatory time/scribe assistance, including their name, enrollment ID, and mobile number. The subject line of the email should be "Compensatory Time/Scribe Assistance under Section 2(s)".
