Steps to Check IIM Mumbai Shortlist 2024 Status

Candidates must follow the given steps to check the IIM Mumbai PI shortlist status 2024:

Step 1: Go to the IIM Mumbai official website at iimmumbai.ac.in.
Step 2: Click on the tab that says “Admission 2024-2026”.
Step 3: After this, go to the “Apply Now” tab and click on it.
Step 4: Enter the required details to register yourself, generate login credentials, and pay IIM Mumbai application fees. The application fees are INR 2000 for General Category candidates and INR 1000 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
Step 5: After this, enter the login credentials like CAT ID and password on the IIM Mumbai website.
Step 6: Finally, check your IIM Mumbai shortlist status 2024.

Stages in IIM Mumbai Interview Shortlist 2024

Given below are the stages involved in IIM Mumbai PI/interview shortlist for the academic year 2024-26:
  • Step I: Meeting minimum CAT percentile cut-offs and sectional cut-offs for Personal Interview (PI) consideration.
  • Step II: Candidates will be shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI).
  • Step III: This stage involves the criteria for the final selection for the MBA Programme after the Personal Interview.

IIM Mumbai Interview Eligibility Criteria 2024

The minimum eligibility for the IIM Mumbai Interview is a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. The minimum required percentage for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories is 45%. The Bachelor's degree must be awarded by any University or educational institution as incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State legislature in India or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. Candidates may also possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Students in the final year of graduation may also apply if they complete their examination, viva voce etc, by the time of joining the Institute. It is also mandatory for the candidates to take and qualify for the Common Admission Test (CAT 2023) to apply for the IIM Mumbai Interview.

IIM Mumbai Interview Shortlist 2024 Stage I: CAT Cutoffs for PI

During Stage I, candidates who fulfill the minimum criteria for both section-wise and overall percentiles in CAT exam will qualify for consideration in Personal Interview (PI). Gender diversity will be factored in by assigning appropriate weightage to both the overall CAT score and sectional cut-offs.

  • The percentiles mentioned above are the minimum requirements for candidates to proceed to Stage II.
  • Actual cut-offs may vary based on the number of candidates shortlisted for the personal interview (PI) in each category. Since they will depend upon the number of candidates to be called for personal interview (PI) in each category, the actual section-wise and overall percentile cut-offs may be much higher than the  minimum percentiles mentioned above.
  • Appropriate weightage in CAT sectional cut-offs and overall CAT score shall be allocated to gender diversity.

IIM Mumbai Interview Shortlist 2024 Stage II: Personal Interview (PI)

Candidates who meet the Stage I criteria will be selected for a Personal Interview (PI), with shortlisting determined by their CAT-2023 scores, sectional cut-offs, and factors such as reservation category and gender diversity. For candidates who have appeared for the PI, a composite score for final selection will be derived using parameters and corresponding weightages. This composite score will be utilized for the preparation of category-wise merit lists.

It should be noted that the provided weights for the calculation of the Composite Score are tentative and subject to change based on the applicants' data status. Gender diversity will receive appropriate weightage in the Composite Score, depending on the applicants' data status.

The ‘Academic Performance & Work Experience Score (APWE Score)’ of an applicant will be used for the final selection process. The percentage of marks obtained by a candidate in the 10th standard, the 12th standard (depending upon the stream, viz., ‘Science’, ‘Commerce’ and ‘Arts & Humanities’), the bachelor’s degree programme (depending upon the discipline) and work experience (as on December 31, 2023) will determine an applicant’s APWE score.
