MLA Academy of Higher Learning was established in 2006 and is affiliated to Bangalore University. It is recognised by UGC and is also approved by NAAC. MLA Academy of Higher Learning offers BA and B.Com at the undergraduate level and M.Com and PGDHRM at the postgraduate level. The governing council of the college constitutes members from the academia and industry and has a good mix of young and experienced people from academia and corporate.

The college looks at imparting knowledge, various skills and emotional and social quotients in the students. It also offers coaching remedial classes for the students who are slow learners and conduct periodical tests and exams for all the students. MLA Academy of Higher Learning encourages the students to engage in various extra-curricular activities such as fests, competitions and events. Students are also given practical exposure and for that, internships. guest lectures and industrial visits are arranged. The placement cell of the college assists the students in getting placement offers from some of the top companies.

The college organises different sports tournaments and yoga is a part of the time table. It also has a counselling centre with a trained counsellor and students can reach out to the counsellor in case they face any issue or wish to talk about something which is causing them distress. The classrooms at the college are equipped with LCD projectors for ICT enabled teaching and learning, and also have access to Wifi.
