IIM Kozhikode shortlist for WAT/PI 2024 was released on IIM Kozhikode's official website on January 22, for PGP, and April 4, 2024, for PGP (F). The registration process for Stage 1 admission took place from January 4 to January 9, 2024. The 2024-26 PGP batch admission requirements and selection process at IIM Kozhikode include shortlisting candidates based on CAT cutoffs, academic records, WAT, and PI. The qualifying IIM Kozhikode CAT cutoff percentile of 85 (General and OBC) remains unchanged from the previous year for admission to IIM Kozhikode in 2024. 

Additionally, candidates completing graduation must have received at least 60% aggregate marks. Similar to the previous year, the weightage of WAT-PI is 55% and the weightage of the CAT score is 35% when it comes to the final selection of candidates for the PGP programme at IIM Kozhikode.

Important Instructions to Fill and Upload IIM Kozhikode Personal Data Form

  • Individuals who are currently working must enter the working experience as of the date of submission of the personal data form.
  • If a situation arises that there is any mismatch between the CAT Data and the actual data, candidates must submit the actual updated data. The data will be verified at the time of the Personal Interview round.
  • For the preparation of the IIM Kozhikode final merit list, the work experience will be taken into consideration only till 31st July 2023.
  • Final-year students may fill out the form but they should submit the scores obtained till the pre-final year.
  • It is mandatory for the candidates to submit the updated NC-OBC/ EWS certificates (if applicable).

IIM Kozhikode Shortlist for WAT/PI 2024: Important Points

The most important points regarding the IIM Kozhikode shortlist for WAT/PI 2024 have been provided below:

  • Students who were eligible for the Stage 1 admission process of the PGP programme for the academic year 2024-26 were contacted through email.
  • Stage 1 is a registration process before the PI round and not a call for PI.
  • In order to begin the registration process, candidates were required to fill out the personal data form that was provided to them in the email.
  • The registration process for the Stage 1 admission process continued from January 4 to January 9, 2024.
  • The shortlist for Stage 2, i.e. Personal Interview 2024 will be made public in the last week of January 2024, on the official website of IIM Kozhikode. Candidates will also be able to download the interview call letters, venue details, etc. from the IIMK website.
  • For Stage 2 of the PI round, only those applicants who have successfully registered online for IIM Kozhikode admissions will be taken into consideration. A candidate is not always eligible to move on to Stage 2 of the selection process simply because they have registered successfully.
  • Depending on the anticipated batch size for 2024-26 and at the discretion of IIM Kozhikode, the number of candidates shortlisted for Stage 2 will be determined.
  • Around the second week of May 2024, a merit list for admissions will be prepared after the completion of Stage 2 (PI). In accordance with the Government of India's reservation policy, the required number of admission offers will be granted in the order of merit.
  • Only a limited number of applicants will be retained on the waiting list. The number of candidates who decline offers from the initial lists will determine which candidates receive offers from the waiting list. IIM Kozhikode will determine the number of candidates on the waiting list based on the anticipated batch size for 2024-26.
  • At the time of the PI, candidates are required to produce all original certificates (academic/reservation/work experience/professional). A candidate will not be allowed to participate in the PI process if he/she fails to produce any of the relevant original certificates mentioned by IIM Kozhikode.
  • It is not permitted to defer an admission offer to a subsequent academic year at IIM Kozhikode.
  • A candidate who receives an admission offer from IIM Kozhikode and accepts it within the specified period of time has to pay ₹1,00,000/- in acceptance of the offer. In order to complete the admissions process, the candidate must register for the postgraduate program on registration day and pay the required fees.

IIM Kozhikode Shortlist for WAT/PI 2024: Key Changes

The following changes have been introduced according to the PGP 2024 admission policy:

  • 45% weightage will be given to CAT 2023 score during shortlisting.
  • 40% Weightage will be given to Class X and Class XII Percentage during shortlisting.
  • 55% weightage will be given to candidate’s profile including academics, diversity and work experience in shortlisting for PI round.
  • 10% weightage will be assigned for female candidates and 5% for Non-Engineers. However, a candidate is allowed to avail the benefit of only one of the two weightages.
  • The weightage given to CAT score has been reduced to 35% in the final selection round for PGP 2024-26 batch admission.
  • The Writing Assessment Test (WAT) has been restored by IIM Kozhikode. 20% weightage will be awarded to WAT during final selection of the candidates.
  • The WAT and PI round will be conducted in physical mode.
  • Candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% marks in Class 10,12 and Graduation to be considered for shortlisting. 
  • No weightage has been assigned to work experience during shortlisting.
  • 10% weightage is given to Gender Diversity and 5% to Academic diversity during shortlisting.
  • 45% weightage has been assigned to CAT 2023 score in shortlisting the candidates
  • The moderate CAT score cut off stands at 85 percentile.
  • 35% weightage has been given to PI Round and 20% to WAT Round during final selection.
  • Weightage given to ‘Resume’ in final selection is 10%.
  • Weightage given to CAT 2023 score in final merit list preparation is 35%.

How to Apply for the IIM Kozhikode Shortlist for WAT/PI 2024

Candidates who meet the requirements to apply to IIM Kozhikode WAT-PI may fill out the PI shortlist form by following the steps listed below:

Step 1: Go to the official website of IIM Kozhikode: iimk.ac.in.

Step 2: Click on the tab that says ‘PGP Admission 2024-26’.

Step 3: Enter the required credentials like CAT registration number & Email ID to register for the PI round.

Step 4: Enter the verification code and click on ‘Login’.

Step 5: Once you are redirecting to the form, fill in the relevant fields with the required information.

Step 6: Click on ‘Submit’ to complete the application process for the PI round.

Stages in IIM Kozhikode Shortist for WAT/PI 2024

There is a three-stage selection process at IIM Kozhikode for admissions to the PGP-Finance programme 2024-26 batch. The three stages are described in detail below:

Stage 1: Registration for the WAT/PI Round

In Stage 1, the candidates meeting the minimum eligibility criteria and obtaining the CAT cutoff 2023 will be able to apply for the WAT/PI round conducted by IIM Kozhikode on the official website. Only applicants who receive a scaled score that is positive (more than zero) in every section of CAT 2023 will be taken into consideration.

  • Candidates with a Graduation Degree are required to obtain a minimum of 60 percent aggregate marks in their Graduation Degree.
  • Candidates who have completed CA/CMA (ICWA)/CS but do not hold a graduation degree are required to obtain at least 50% aggregate marks.
  • Candidates who have obtained a graduation degree and 50% of the maximum points in CA, CMA (ICWA), or CS must earn at least 60% aggregate marks in their graduation degree.

Stage 2: Shortlisting for WAT and PI

After completing the registration process in Stage 1, all eligible candidates can move on to the Stage 2 process, which determines which candidates will be called for a personal interview (PI). An Aggregate Index Score (AIS) will be used to compile a shortlist of candidates for each category. The following is the weightage assigned to each component in the AIS.

Stage 3: Final Shortlist for WAT/PI

The candidates who are shortlisted must attend a Written Ability Test (WAT) first and a Personal Interview (PI) after that. The WAT and PI rounds will be conducted by IIM Kozhikode in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Mumbai, and New Delhi. It will take half a day to complete the entire process (morning or afternoon). The candidates are first required to write an essay, then appear for the Personal Interview round. Shortly prior to the commencement of the Written Ability Test (WAT) session, the topic will be disclosed at the exam location. A candidate's academic efforts and disposition, general awareness and social behavior, attitude, personality, and communication, as well as the level of their work experience, will all be assessed by the panel during the Personal Interview (PI) process.  

Evaluating the standard of the applicant's academic background and achievements, professional qualifications and certifications, a resume score will be determined. The final scores will be determined based on the resume score, PI, WAT, and CAT exam performance after the WAT and PI processes have been conducted. The parameters for final score computation and the weightage allocated to them have been provided in the table below:

Based on the final scores, a merit list divided into categories will be created. Candidates who qualify for the merit list will receive admission offers in accordance with the Government of India's reservation policies. Those who are accepted into the PGP programme must confirm their acceptance by signing the admission offer letter and paying the confirmation fee (the first installment of the course fee). If a student chooses to cancel his/her enrollment, the fee amount will be reimbursed after deducting a processing fee of INR 1,000.
