NIT Trichy MTech Admission Process
MTech admissions at NIT Trichy are done through the GATE exam. GATE-qualified students need to appear in the CCMT counselling which will be held in various rounds. To be eligible for MTech admission at NIT Trichy, students need to have a BTech degree with at least 60% of marks and then appear for GATE and CCMT. MTech admissions at NIT Trichy are cutthroat due to several number of students applying. The authorities set the NIT Trichy MTech admission cutoff higher due to limited seats. Students scoring equal to or higher than the NIT Trichy MTech cutoff have better chances of MTech admissions.
MTech admission at NIT Trichy is also done through sponsorship. To be eligible for admission at NIT Trichy through sponsorship, the student must have passed the qualifying degree from a recognized university with a minimum 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale), or 60% for GEN, EWS, and OBC-NCL students, and 6.0 CGPA (on a 10-point scale), or 55% for SC, ST, and PwD students. Sponsored students must be supported by their employers and have at least two years of relevant work experience from the same company.
The admission to M.Tech under Sponsorship will be offered through a written test / online personal Interview conducted by the respective departments. However, students must note that a call for a Test and Interview does not guarantee MTech admission at NIT Trichy. Shortlisted students will be called through mail and the names of the selected students will be available on the NIT Trichy official website.
