IIT Madras has not yet released the GATE cutoff 2022 for M.Tech courses. IIT Madras GATE cutoff 2022 will be out only after the conclusion of the admission process. Candidates with a valid GATE 2021/2020/ 2019 score can apply for M.Tech admission at IIT Madras. For most M.Tech specialisations, IIT Madras accepts GATE scores. IIT Madras M.Tech Admission Process through GATE 2022

Admission Process for GATE Qualified Candidates: After the announcement of GATE 2022 results, IIT Madras will finalize admission offer to candidates based on merit as per GATE score and choices that are given by them in the application form. Such candidates need to attend the subsequent rounds of the admission process such as the Suitability Test and Interview.
For some specializations in M.Tech, IIT Madras will ask the GATE qualified applicants to appear for Suitability Test and Interview. Admission to these candidates will be offered based on GATE score, performance in suitability test, and interview.
Accepting Offer and Fee Payment: After the selection of candidates for M.Tech admission, IIT Madras will send admission offers to the candidates. The candidates will have to accept the admission offer and pay the course fee. Candidates who have already accepted the admission offer will be not allowed to take part in subsequent rounds of the admission process/ upgrade the choice.
Reporting for Admission: Candidates, who have accepted the admission offer, must submit the certificate of qualifying degree examination and join the institute within the stipulated date. The candidates are required to submit a medical fitness certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner.
Course Fee Payment Process: After accepting the admission offer, the candidates must pay the course fee through the official M.Tech admission website of IIT Madras. The course fee for General and OBC Category candidates is Rs. 20,197 per semester (only for day scholars), and the fee for SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates is Rs. 15,197 per semester (only for day scholars). Students who wish to avail the hostel facility must pay Rs. 24,280 additionally (per annum).

Eligibility Criteria for IIT B.Tech Graduates:
IIT B.Tech graduates with a CGPA of 8.0 or above are eligible for M.Tech direct admission at IIT Madras without the requirement of a GATE score.
These applicants must undergo review by the respective departments at IIT Madras.
Eligibility Criteria for Sponsored Candidates:
- Candidates employed and sponsored by private and public enterprises/ government organisations/ industry, engaged in R&D work recognised by the Department of Science and Technology with at least two years of work experience can get admission in the M.Tech course at IIT Madras.
- These candidates must have at least 60% of aggregate marks in B.E/ B.Tech degrees.
IIT Madras M.Tech Admission Application Process 2022
Eligible candidates can submit the online application form for M.Tech admission at IIT Madras by following the steps mentioned below: -
IIT Madras has created an official website for M.Tech admissions. Candidates can find the official website by typing the IIT Madras M.Tech Admissions keyword on Google Search. The first search result will mostly direct you to the official website.
After opening the official website, click on the link that indicates ‘Online Application Form’ or ‘Apply Online.
Candidates applying for multiple courses must note that they should submit a separate application form for each course.
In the online application form, fill all the details carefully. Valid E-Mail ID and Mobile Number are mandatory to complete the registration.
The candidates will receive the login details on their mobile or e-mail id.
With the help of login credentials, the candidates can log in and complete the online application process.
Enter all the details carefully, as there will be no chance to edit the details in the application form after submission.
Exercise the options or choice of courses carefully.
After filling in the details in the application form, upload the prescribed documents (scanned version).
After all the above steps, proceed to the payment of the online application fee.
The application fee for General and OBC candidates is Rs. 400, and the application fee for SC/ ST and Women candidates is Rs. 200.
After the payment of the application fee online, the candidates can take the printout of the application form.
