Eligibility for Goa University PG Admission 2026

Admission to all PG programs at Goa University through GU-ART is based on the ranking test score. Graduation marks are used only to verify eligibility, not for merit ranking.

  • For Goa University graduates (NEP 2020 structure, enrolled from 2023-24 onwards): A student is eligible for a PG program in a discipline corresponding to either the major or minor discipline studied in their UG program, as per UGC CCFPP NEP Regulations.
  • For candidates under CBCS or pre-NEP structure: Candidates must have completed an Honours or General degree in the relevant discipline, or as specified in the program-specific eligibility listed in the admission notification.
  • Final year candidates: Students appearing in the final year of their graduation are eligible to apply. Admission is provisional and confirmed after UG results are declared. If a candidate fails to clear the qualifying examination, admission is cancelled and fees are refunded.
  • Change of Discipline: Candidates who have not studied the PG discipline at the UG level may apply under the Change of Discipline scheme, subject to a minimum of 40% aggregate in the qualifying degree. They must appear for and pass the Change of Discipline Test (CDT) with a minimum of 50% marks to qualify for the GU-ART.
  • Other University candidates: Candidates who have graduated from universities other than Goa University can apply using their GU-ART score or PG-CUET score on a first-come-first-served basis till the formally notified last date of admission. A 10% supernumerary quota is available for other university candidates at university campus programs.
