Who is Eligible for Tripura University PG Admission 2026?

To be eligible for PG admission 2026 at Tripura University, candidates must fulfil the following requirements:

M.A.Bachelor's degree in the relevant subject. Some programs such as Archaeology & Ancient Indian Culture and Liberal Arts accept graduates from any discipline.
M.Sc.B.Sc. (Hons./Pass) in the relevant subject/discipline such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Zoology, Geography, etc.
MCABCA, B.Sc., B.Com., or B.A. with Mathematics at Class 12 or graduation level; minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).
MBABachelor's degree in any discipline and a valid CUET PG 2026 score.
M.Com.Bachelor's degree in Commerce or a related discipline.
M.Pharm.B.Pharm. degree from a PCI-approved institution with minimum 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST candidates). 
M.Tech.B.E./B.Tech. in the relevant engineering discipline. Depending on the specialization, MCA or relevant M.Sc. qualifications may also be accepted.
M.F.A.Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts or a related discipline.
M.MusicBachelor's degree in Music or a related discipline.
M.P.Ed.Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or an equivalent qualification

How to Apply for Tripura University PG Admission 2026 

The step-by-step process to apply for Tripura University PG admission 2026 is as follows:

  • Step 1: Visit the Tripura University Admission Portal at tripuraunivcuet.samarth.edu.in. You can also access it via the admission section of tripurauniv.ac.in.
  • Step 2: Log in using your CUET PG 2026 credentials. Your name, signature, and photograph will be auto-integrated from the NTA CUET portal and will not be editable on the TU portal.
  • Step 3: Select the PG programme(s) you wish to apply for. You can apply for up to 3 programmes, but each requires a separate application and a separate registration fee payment.
  • Step 4: Review all pre-filled information carefully. Make any necessary corrections at this stage. Once the registration fee is paid, no further corrections can be made to the application.
  • Step 5: Pay the registration fee online through the portal: INR 200 for UR/OBC candidates, INR 100 for SC/ST/EWS candidates.
  • Step 6: Submit the application and save a copy of the confirmation for your records.
  • Step 7: Check the 1st Merit List on the specified date through the admission portal. If your name appears, attend counselling at the respective department with all original documents.
  • Step 8: Pay the programme semester fee by the next day till 5:00 PM after counselling. Admission is confirmed only after physical document verification at the department.

Documents Required for Tripura University PG Admission 2026

Carry originals and self-attested copies to the department for document verification at the university:

  • CUET PG 2026 scorecard
  • Class 10 certificate and marksheet (proof of date of birth)
  • Class 12 marksheet and certificate
  • All semester marksheets of the qualifying degree
  • Degree certificate or provisional degree certificate
  • Category certificate: SC/ST certificate issued by a competent authority
  • PwBD certificate from a recognised government hospital, showing disability percentage of 40% or more (if applicable)
  • Anti-Ragging Undertaking submitted online at antiragging.in (reference number required)
  • NOC from employer (for in-service candidates)
  • Passport-size photographs

Candidate's name on all certificates must match exactly with the name registered in CUET PG 2026. Any mismatch may result in the cancellation of candidature.

Tripura University PG Seat Reservation Policy 2026

Tripura University reserves 17% seats for SC, 31% for ST, 2% for OBC, 10% for EWS, and 5% for PwBD.

Key points on reservation:

  • The OBC-NCL reservation at Tripura University is 2% and applies strictly to candidates whose caste is listed in the Central List of OBCs notified by the Government of India. State-list OBC candidates who are not in the Central List are not eligible for OBC reservation at Tripura University.
  • OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must be issued after March 31, 2026. Certificates issued before this date will not be accepted.
  • PwBD candidates with 40% or more disability are fully exempt from all admission fees, semester fees, and examination fees. Only an Alumni Fund fee of INR 200 is collected at the time of admission.
  • Sports quota: 5% supernumerary seats are reserved for national-level medal winners in recognised sports. Sports certificates from invitational, memorial, open, or prize-money events are not accepted.

Tripura University PG Admission 2026 Merit List

Tripura University will publish the 1st Merit List for PG Admission 2026-27 on June 16, 2026 at tripuraunivcuet.samarth.edu.in. No individual communication will be sent to candidates. 

  • Counselling for candidates in the 1st Merit List will take place from June 17 to June 23, 2026. Program-wise counselling dates will be notified separately on the TU website. 
  • If a candidate does not report for counselling or does not pay the admission fee within the stipulated window, the seat will be offered to the next candidate on the merit list.
  • If seats remain vacant after the CUET PG admission process, Tripura University may conduct additional admission rounds through a merit list or a university-level entrance test.
