Kuvempu University was established in 1987. Kuvempu University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). There are 99 colleges affiliated to Kuvempu University, out of which there are 3 constituent colleges, 30 Government aided colleges, 65 unaided private colleges, and one college under the direct control of the University.
